That's nice.

Richard just posted his first video in three days. It's a bizarre reaction to the Eternals?

Guess he figures Chole Zhao won't contact him? ;)

Okay, so Zack starts the video trying to work his way around to the definition of a "Reaction video" before he gets to the point that this looks like a fan made trailer, by way of saying that he always had this friend he had to sit down and talk to that friend that Tom Cruise is never going to be Green Lantern despite how photoshopped or edited the stuff is. Zack rants about clickbait and pop ups and ads basically.

Zack then tells us nobody gave a fuck about the Eternals comics, despite it being a Jack Kirby work. I don't know, this sounds like the type of reaction someone would make when they heard the announcement and the casting details that they'd be making this movie, not after the first teaser trailer drop.

Zack repeats that this reminds him of fake trailers again. Zack admits he stole a joke from a SNL sketch. Asks people if they knew what Mewing is because Kumail Nanajani shouldn't do it too much. He just noticed that Kevin Feige tried to reverse his position on the Ancient One, talks about the Snake Eyes film, then something about some Minority Justice Leagues.

Thanks for watching, bye.

That's just the tip of the iceberg.

All youtubers cultivate a parasocial relationship with their audience, but only Gary and a few others can be said to have perfected it. Friday Night Tights as a show may have collapsed long ago under the crushing tedium of reading hundreds upon hundreds of superchats per show, but it makes no difference because the audience that's there are no longer interested in being entertained, they've been conditioned to feel vicarious pleasure in watching Gary receive money.

It's this achievement and the desire to follow in his wake, ascending to true griftlord status themselves that has guests like Midnight's Edge and even professional comedians like Chrissie Mayr (allegedly) at Nerdrotic's beck and call, taking backroom marching orders from him on who they can and can't have on their own channels.
The real kicker is that Gary manages to butcher every single fucking superchat with all the aplomb of a cerebral palsy sufferer delivering the Gettysburg address.

As you suggest Dongs - long, long since has any attempt to genuinely cover comics/popular culture or truly indulge his guests escaped Friday Night Tights; now its fans are watching 5 hours of Gary’s dyslexic delivery of his cultivated grift; with side servings of Brie Larson fetishising and some truly self-indulgent shit-tier ‘memes’.

$21k gross in one MONTH for this. This fucking fraggle might be the most insidious popular culture YouTube grifter of all time. And yes I even think he surpasses the likes of The Quartering in that regard.

zack shouldn't have any room to judge marvel or any comic creator or movie after 499 being his magnum opus, but eternals wont be a flop, it'll make a billion or 700 mill with a horrible drop off at most because it's a new group in the mcu and mcu will probably never have a flop, it won't do endgame numbers but it'll make enough millions to live a few phases.

Personally, I could see past the Jefferies shitshow and the Waid lawsuit cuckoldry - as infuriating as they were - but the absolute destruction of YBZ’s credibility is the 499 abomination as far as I am concerned. The moment that shit was passed as a crowdfunded comic ‘investment’ was the moment his opinion on anything was immediately filed inside the porcelain bowl in my bathroom.

Honestly, I'd still be pretty miffed at him backing down on the Waid suit entirely because he essentially took all that money from the fans and ditched before committing. That's a massive fuck you.

But him supporting and believing sub fanzine tier garbage is the last straw.

People say Narwhal's art is like stills or frames of animation. To those people, I say you are either lying to yourself and the audience, or you don't know anything about animation.

This is an example of a real in between frame animation from Naruto back in the days. As you can clearly see, Sasuke's neck is pretty much snapped, but you only see it if you pause on the frames, these stills are meant to somewhat make the animation move more smoothly in terms of character movement and aren't really meant to be paused and looked at, clearly, because the manga itself doesn't contain all the possible frames that are going into the animation, it just has the panels from before, during, and after the action, not the pieces that connect them.

Narwhal's art only reminds me of what I was doing by playing dumb shit on Newgrounds and using Paint MS to fuck around back like almost 20 years ago, there's nothing about any of these panels that scream they belong in animation sphere because to do that, they actually have to match in movements from panel to panel or at least convey some line action my eyes can follow across the page from panel to panel smoothly.

Honestly it comes a point where it's hard to even care about the grift. People are practically begging to be grifted, and so I can't feel sorry for them. Think of the people who send in a $100 superchat minimum into every single FNT stream just to get that applause sound drop. If Gary were to disappear then they'd just go find another friend simulator to pour their money into. These people probably make up the bulk of the superchat totals, and they're just as much to blame for the absurdity of the situation as the hosts of the show are.

In the past I put forward the idea that these youtubers who originally got their legs with Comicsgate, but went on to chasing trends and Youtube algorithm and pumping out reactionary content were still serving a purpose; that they were still at least convincing the masses that there was a problem and that logically, a percentage of the proselytized after a time would be open to ideas of doing something beyond consuming corporate media pablum and complaining. My mistake was that I did not consider that the youtube grifter scene was continuing to develop even as I gave commentary on it, until pioneers like Nerdrotic reached this new purified plateau, a closed system where zero intelligible thoughts or ideas are communicated. I have seen the future and it is a sight for despair.

I'm starting to suspect he's listening to WC. It's bad enough he hangs with rejects like Liam and DarkGrift. I hang around "the etsys," and I can tell you while they do like fucking with people to some extent, it's not in the evil and insidious manner Finatra suggests. Not in the manner WC is notorious for.

From Testefy's perspective, he's going out and looking for promising new Comicsgate creators who get support from nobody and offering them friendship, support, supplying entertaining guests and helping in building up a community of people that know they're not bad and are willing to hang out with them. Invariably, it seems once their channels become monetized and they start gaining traction, the existing whisper networks and DM groups within the lower-level Comicsgaters start taking notice and contact the prospect and advise them to have cut all ties off with Testefy and the Etsies or else be blacklisted. Eventually they comply and his Sisyphean punishment begins anew.

From Finatra's perspective, he sets out with the goal of becoming a popular and accepted member of the Comicsgate community. He puts in work creating entertaining content and remixing livestreams that become hits (within the goldfish bowl that is Comicsgate), he holds livestreams for the community and engages with his audience; he sometimes gets drunk and begins to rap and dance for his people. Testefy and the Etsy boys like what he's doing and want to help him succeed. Eventually and with a lot of hard work he does just that; his channel does start growing and more people within the Comicsgate community showing up. It turns out Testefy has beef with a large number of these new arrivals and starts getting possessive when they start getting chummy and friendly, and of course these hostilities are mutual. What started as "advice" becomes louder and more cutting criticism at his guests and his decision to host them. Any pushback is framed as betrayal and there is no de-escalation from there.

Again it might not be as satisfying as pinning the whole state of affairs on the hosts, but I'm gonna continue the theme of blaming the fans. Have you ever read the live chat for the show? As much as Gary clumsily throws out the "consoomer" meme, the vast majority of his audience would love nothing more than to stay unthinking consumers. They're literally there just so they can cope. Matrix analogies are decades past being played out now, but his fans would gladly take the blue pill and go back to a world where politics never consciously intruded on their entertainment and it just stayed a thing that was changing everything about their lives stealthily in the background. They literally don't want to understand what's going on. More understanding would only intrude on the calm in their lives even more. They want entertainment that will help them forget about everything the way it used to. They only want to know just enough so they can commiserate with each other and semi-intelligibly complain about the state of affairs.

It's different in that Rumiko created those comics from the ground up. American artists and writers get paid on stuff they didn't invent.
Oh well, that's just stupid.

I believe it is time to re-instate the Orange Tyrant's spotlight, he was onto Zack before any of us!
Get out.

Except they were apart of WC. For a while. I remember seeing a few of them go hard in the paint on Twitter with the WC line of assholes.
Yes, I believe that is what the term Etsy means. A reformed/former WCer.

Hopefully it all falls into the past and anyone that listens to Wascampaign at this point is a damned fool.
Agreed.

Not to shill, but I listened to the advice from some of you, and launched the Indiegogo for my signed books.
Good for you. You should also use Kickstarter for even more money.

I, for one, think the idea that I shouldn't deal with Indiegogo or Kickstarter because some tiny portion of my purchase might go to fund BLM (or whatever) is fucking stupid. Am I getting the book with a minimum amount of fuss, or not?

I think we have arrived at the point where if you aren't going to do a transaction with a corporation if they pay lip service to a socio-political group you don't like (but otherwise offer a good product), you might as well abandon all financial transactions and go live in a commune. It's just the way things are now. I don't think anybody is making a difference with most of this boycott shit.

Liam Treehouse update number... whatever... who cares?

Liam is so dejected, he's now been retconned into the old The Incredible Hulk TV series.

HE FINALLY MADE IT GUYS! Marvel took notice! Aren't you jealous @FROG?

UPDATE: Bitchute archive of Liam's riveting sweep stream.

I can kind of get the idea of a super chat on Frog's streams as he is making all sorts of product. So, it feels more like a tip, but what does Nerdrotic offer? His delivery off putting, there's a gloomy vibe to his content while Frog is good at play acting the happy warrior/troll.

Was it Comic Hutt who said anyone was foolish to get into paying into the Waid suit? Looking to lawsuits for a 'cause' is a bad idea because apparently it takes along time and proving the damages, seemed like it was a complicated matter. The biggest loss for Zack is he lost the ability to speak about it. Zack is lucky to have Frog as a friend as he'll repair the Jawbreakers IP.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again: Waid was the nominal de facto victor. Whether you like it or not.

Waid stays employed in mainstream comics. There was no adverse factual finding concerning Waid's fuckery.

Zach walked away with nothing, and legally can't shit on Waid anymore. Shitting on SJWs is a pretty big secondary income source for CG members (secondary to CG comics).

Based on how this played out, Zach shouldn't have even bothered.

Now he's doing crap like 499 and talking about "bisexual lighting." I wonder whether this broke him.

Paypiggies in the truest since.

That's not the reason they don't use KS. They don't use it because Richard and Lost Souls were rejected. To be fair, the rejection was a political act. Due to that gatekeeping, Frog and others swore off KS and chose IndieGoGo as it was very good to Ethan and those who had his ear.
