First, There are several taxa of bats native to south-central China.
Second, bats hibernating in the winter makes them especially easy to target by hunters/poachers. Its much easier to walk in a cave and net sleeping bats off the wall by the dozens to put in your raw bat soup.

You know this thread is plagued by old ideas and false ideas about bats, the pandemic, viruses, vaccines, the covid vaccine and the source of the virus, source of many viruses, what a virus is, what a corona virus is... that I have to wonder where and what people have been reading for the last 16 months.

It isn't like most of these strange ideas have not been thoroughly disproven and laid to rest quite some time ago. What is disturbing that it isn't like most of this information wasn't recorded and known of prior to this pandemic and there are vast references on the timeline going back years that answer almost all of these suspicions. Most were contained in annoying things called books.

If a mind needs books like a knife needs whetstone, then many of these posters need to get off the internet they currently visit and go to one with historical records and papers to get the timeline and "weight" of the coronavirus into perspective - or buy some books.

The same arguments are getting rehashed and we are 16 months down into this pandemic, and over 100 years into viruses with some of these ideas flying against what hasn't been known in the last 16 months, but the last 100 years.

This, in essence, is the conclusion I came to when I studied in great depth the whole Epstein drama. I poured over every single document I could find, thousands of pages. I had to use the very heights of my computer skills to search and collate the information from the documents, some of which, which were searchable by computer, others, only by eyeball. I felt like I did a pretty good job. That I had at least gleaned as much information as possible from those docs. Too much stuff was redacted, and even though there was a trick you could use on some docs to see the redacted info by converting the files to another format, even then, the really really useful stuff wasn't available. A lot of information was also repeated ad nauseum and therefore redundant. I don't know of anyone else who researched all of those documents, and the research that others had done on those documents, and then put their findings up on the net on a public forum for others to glean. It didn't amount to much anyway, as most of it was red herrings and dead ends and just obfuscated bullshit.

You talk about Gates, and I got the same impression from the last weeks from what they are doing to Billy boy as I got from when they hung Jeffy boy out to dry. The fact that we are 16 months into this and people still think a fucking coronavirus is "just so new", has AIDS powers or poses any remote threat to the survival of Homos sapiens is troubling.

What happened is a bunch of prominent US scientists wrote and signed a letter about lab leak hypothesis in The Journal of Science. The amount of evidence against animal origin of covid 19 grew far too large to be ignored. Scientists literally cannot research this matter without acknowledging that evidence, there is nothing to build upon if they are not actively trying to better their understanding. While scientists are not perfect, and the whole pandemic has plenty of evidence for that, it is a process that makes it really hard to ignore the truth in the long term. It is only self correcting given enough time, and at this point the pile of evidence is too large for anyone to ignore while still doing their jobs. That's all there really is to see here.

The journalists cannot find experts that outrank the ones that authored and signed the letter in Science. Many scientists are writing about evidence for lab leak hypthesis on personal blogs, or on medium, and being widely read. The evidence is easy to understand, like ventilation and sunlight severely limiting the spread of this virus being incompatible with animals passing it around at an outdoor market. The cat is out of the bag and journalists are fucking pissy about having to write about this now. Elites do not like this. David Frum wrote a huge butthurt screed in the atlantic about how its all trump's fault that they ignored the lab leak hypothesis. If you cntrol+f for "trump" you can see he mentions him 29 times. He claims that since trump talked about lab leak it was his journalistic duty to ignore it. or something. ??? Either way, orange mans fault!

Near the beginning of the pandemic, Nature published info calling the lab leak hypothesis a conspiracy theory. It seems to have stemmed from non-scientific concerns like wanting to prevent any discrimination or violence that might come to asians, or worsening relations with china. They treated animal origin of covid-19 as the null hypothesis out of a social justice and political concern. That type of thing always falls apart, especially when everyone capable of researching covid is doing it. I think that even more than the concerns about protecting asians and WHO/china, the fact of the matter is that a lab leak makes scientists look bad, especially virologists. And they fucked up, massively. There isn't a precedent for obtaining justice for a mistake of this magnitude.

You are covering broad strokes and I can not help but feel your history of viruses is somewhat limited. Or their real effects on world economics and politics and how pandemics in the past have literally changed the course of history as we know it through secondary effects.

It has been known for many years which viruses we need to be watching out for that would eventually make the jump and I can assure you we have many types of viruses that have previously existed, and that will exist that are far more of a concern than the inevitable one we have now. Or perhaps the virus Ebola that the Russians crossed with smallpox will get loose and then you'll see a 90% human population reduction with authority given to torch alive anyone who tries to cross over from the infected country. These are VERY real and do exist. Perhaps it will cross to swine and then aback again to fuck us harder. Not to say this one we have isn't a bad one - it is, but the idea it wasn't expected to arrive would not be true. It has been expected for some time and frankly is a little late to the party. Whether or not it was engineered, whether or not it was leaked.

The top scientists are not concerned with the origins as much as they are about what happens next with this virus and that's where their attention needs to be.

I do not know if you understand this fully; but this virus as it currently stands represents a serious threat to the global economy and to humans for a variety of reasons and could easily lead to not only war, but a decoupling of the global initiative. And imagine it mutates to infect kids and kill them as often as it does adults, and that every time someone gets infected (and they are expected to get infected once per year), that the odds of permanent disability or diminished lung, nerve or brain function drop from 1 in 2,000 per year, to after 20 years 1 in 100. So that 1% of the global population that doesn't die is permanently disabled.

What happens if it mutates so that there is a 1 in a 100, or 200 odds that it kills your kid? Willing to make that gamble? That's a pretty brave gamble and it might come to that. Schools gone. economies gone. Millions of the workforce will be forced to stay at home and look after their kids. Governments will print money to hold up the place.

This is a scenario that could unfold unless we let the experts do their jobs and stop fucking taking away their time with stupid fucking questions and hearings or firing them because they don't say what you want to hear.

These are scenarios that are very real, and it would help to understand what is really behind global movements right now and here at home. We are possibly facing a very serious challenge to the global order of things and this is what at the forefront of their minds. So while you may or may not eventually find out if it came from a lab or not, this minor detail that pails in comparison to the real threat we may have - is what is at the forefront of those in charge. Lab or no lab be damned. We are talking about Chamberlain 2 years into the war.

And in the USA if we do not protect against the variants, we may well in 1 year be back to square one entirely with almost none of the population immune to the new variants - which historically (may not hold true but probably based on the direction we've seen) will be more deadly, and more transmittable and then the new wave will not crush, it will bury the hospitals. You won't have to die from it to suffer, secondary causes of death through economic hardship and a wiping out of economies will kill more than the virus over time.

I'd say rather than stupid fucking hearings on the capital by Politicians trying to score points as to whether or not they can catch Fauci double talking or backtracking instead focus on what it on the minds of the top virologists on Earth, and what Fauci will never say under the guidelines of national security in front of a camera.

And that is, "We might quite possibly all be seriously fucked. And you want me to invest my agencies time, money and efforts in order to know if Bruce Lee is to blame?!".

1) COVID doesn't kill 2%, it kills 0.2%, less than a quarter of a percent
2) It doesn't kill randomly or equally, the population cohort that would be vulnerable in Year 1 & 2 would already be dead in Year 0.
3) Viruses rarely evolve to be more lethal, because killing your host is a trait that impairs transmissibility. As time goes on the virus lineages which do less to their host but spread faster will likely outcompete those that cripple their host and miss out chances to replicate.
4) More babies were born in the US alone than COVID killed globally. Read that again.
COVID could murk the same number of people it did in 2020 year after year after year, and the US alone would be enough to replace and maintain the global population.

I think this kind of ignores the agency these people have. They choose to be ignorant and brainwashed. While it’ll be tragic if these vaccines end up killing people in 2 years, the plus side is that most of the people left will be right-leaning.

Well, the regional travel restrictions in my shithole province have been extended, making my camping trip planned to begin May 31st technically illegal. I'm going anyways. Never thought I would have to break the law just to go on a camping trip, but here we are.
