Let's Sperg Let's Play XCOM Terror From The Deep (Completed) - This is gonna hurt

Fugging nibba prawn people boarding the sub to try make aquanaut subs. Here is to hoping the scuba dinos not making an early appearance like those shrimp spergs.

Patch me back please !

Ah, Lobstermen. Definitely one of the major "Fuck you"s that Terror From the Deep throws at UFO Defense veterans. They have slightly less health and more armor than TFTD's Ethereal equivalent, pack a built-in melee attack and are otherwise aquatic, meaner Mutons. For those not familiar with them, the insane durability comes from damage modifiers that the game doesn't inform you of at all.

According to the wiki:
Armour Piercing: 20% <- Jet Harpoons
Incendiary: 30%
High-Explosive: 30% <- Gas Cannons, Torpedo Launchers, Grenades
Gauss: 30%
Sonic: 50% <- Alien Guns
Stun: 110%
Melee: 200% <- Good luck getting the terror mission to unlock these

Should you encounter Lobstermen before you have Gauss weapons, you're better off just aborting the mission. And if you get that one specific terror mission, you REALLY should just abort the mission and eat the score penalty; it's better than spending two hours to lose most of your squad and still likely have a negative score.

Oof just another day in TFTD. Feel free to throw my little sibling PastthePepperyPlains in. Maybe they’ll survive long enough to actually get a promotion!

and mildly better psionic resistance.

Penne Dreadful, already frazzled from the way this mission has gone, and now faced with eight feet of heavy armor and giant claws, that he's supposed to walk up to and poke with an icecube on a stick, finally snaps. He dumps his entire magazine of Gauss rounds into the target. Which, to my astonishment, fells it.
He surely can't keep getting away with this.

By the way I had a lot of fun with Phoenix Point. It's not perfect, but the setting is great and basically every enemy is some sort of tough mutant lobster. Fortunately there's a supremely cool aiming system so you can snipe the squishy bits or cripple their organic weapons with location-based damage and clean up later.
