Militant Vegans - MEAT IS MURDER, YOU BLOODMOUTHS

Do Vegans eat mushrooms?

I mean I guess we can assume that they take shrooms with how they think but...

So far as I know, vegans eat mushrooms. I've never heard of any who don't, at least not for reasons other than just not liking them.

Some vegans eat honey. Others don't. It isn't quite the same as milk since it isn't directly a product of their body, IMO, so it would be consistent to some extent with vegan beliefs to eat honey. It would also depend why someone is vegan, though. If the fundamental ethical basis of it is a refusal to instrumentalize the life of another animal, they might avoid it.

There's also an extreme form of veganism called fruitarianism, generally associated with the Jainist faith. These are people who refuse to kill any living creature, at least to the greatest extent possible, so they don't even eat anything that kills the plant. This practically limits them to nuts, berries and leaves.

Most people haven't heard of Jains because they don't go around acting like giant dicks. (I should add that not acting like a giant dick is also part of their religion.)

Irony: Vegans who are perfectly fine with abortion will be horrified at scrambled eggs, which aren't even (commercially, anyway, or with homegrown/hobbyfarm eggs from hens who are not around roosters) chicken fetuses at all, and which will never, ever hatch.

I may start calling scrambled eggs "chicken abortions" anyway, just for fun. Especially around Tumblr/Militant vegans.

The PETA-approved term is "chicken period"

OHgod, they're serious. That is literally the funniest shit ever. Never mind that "chicken periods" are NOT bloody (the odd egg might have a 'blood spot' in it but that's it). Epic fail at the attempted grossout factor, but most people are smarter than to be taken in by that nonsense anyway.

No, screw PeTard. Chicken abortions is more amusing.

I have to wonder how many vegans like at PeTard (reference to a MAD Magazine satire of PeTA years ago) are simply crazy from incorrect diet/failure to supplement with B12, not to mention inadequate fat intake, a sufficient level of which is absolutely necessary for brain health. Particularly Omega-chain fatty acids (3's, 6's, etc)

Please repeat after me:

"Milk is rape."
"Beekeeping is slavery."
"Cows are equal to women."

These are prime examples of what can happen to your mental processes when you don't get a cheeseburger or couple of slices of bacon down your neck every now and then.

The PeTArds never considered that duh, bees have these things. They're called "wings". They can GTFO whenever they want!

Also double-irony because many insect societies employ slavery. Particularly some species of ants.

Uh, actually they do. It's been mentioned before in this thread, with links IIRC. It's just another example of how absolutely pants-on-head batshit insane you can get without animal protein in your system.

(sorta-off-topic note: as a former blacksmith & metalworker, I'd love to meet the smith skilled enough to make the teeny-tiny chains & collars needed for bee slavery.)

I find the idea of tiny chains and collars for bee slavery disturbingly adorbs (if horrifically impractical).

You can tell a vegan militant activist with a straight face that the omelette you had for breakfast was just an unviable clump of cells. ;)

Well nah, I couldn't keep a straight face. I'd be too busy LMAO. :D

Not eating eggs and milk, and not using fleece or wool is the epitome of stupidity.

Chickens (from personal experience) don't give a damn about their eggs most of the time. Every now and then a hen will get into a brooding mood and start to nest, and when that happens, she'll keep her eggs for the 21 days they need to hatch, but for the rest of the year, that same hen will pop them out and just leave them where she layed them, without a second thought. If the eggs are not taken by humans, they'll rot, or rats will get to them. Every now and then one will break and the chickens themselves will eat it. They love that stuff. Some hens actually love it so much that they'll break their own eggs to get to that gooey inside... But, that's a bad habit that should not be promoted, therefore it's best to have the humans go gather the eggs every day so the chickens don't turn into baby eaters.

Cows, once they've had their first calf, have to be milked. They were bred for that reason. If they don't get milked, they can develop a lot of health problems, their udders can get clogged, and they'll be in extreme pain. The baby only drinks milk for a few months, and the cow just keeps producing. That milk might as well be used by us. In exchange, we feed the cow and keep it safe from predators.

Wool and fleece, from llamas, goats, and alpacas, and sheep has to be sheered. If its not, it can grow endlessly, get caught in branches and rocks, and overheat the poor sheep. The sheep is not going to use it once it's gone, so why can't we?

These animals are in a symbiotic relationship with us. We help them, they help us. We keep them fed and healthy, they keep us fed and give us products we can use. It has been like this for thousands upon thousands of years. It's just beyond presumptuous and stupid to assume that you're more righteous than anyone else because you refuse to exploit animals. Animals don't give a damn if they're exploited. They just want to not starve, not be in pain, and not suffocate under their own wool.

God damn these people are morons. It should be a requirement for every dumb city kid to go live and work on a real farm for a month in their early teens. Then maybe they'd figure out how the real world functions, and we would not have so many of these retards running around.

The animals are reduced to such a state by us humans
We should euthanize all of them to liberate them from their existence as slave species
That's what PETA does

Farm animals aren't sentient and they don't give a shit wether they are "enslaved" or not. Like a goldfish doesn't give a shit about being "enslaved" as long as it's well kept, healthy and fed (goldfish are domestic fish they do not occur naturally in the wild in their current forms)

One thing I've noticed about militant vegan idiots who troll the newspapers' letters sections (who often coincide with vegan tumblr fools) with the typical "vegan/vegetarian is best - meat is murder" nonsense, is they tend to use the term "sentient" incorrectly in a sentence, such as "It's wrong to kill sentient beings". They keep using that word. It does not mean what they think it means. The term they're grasping for, is actually "sapient", but yeah, farm animals aren't even anywhere near close to sapient. Never mind that animals that are closest to being "sapient", such as WHALES/Dolphins and CHIMPS, will hunt and eat meat and not agonize over how their tasty meat snack suffered. And if you've ever watched a PBS Nature Show or Animal Planet/Discovery Channel Documentary, you'll see just how Orcas make their prey "suffer" before eating them.

The other idiocy I've noticed from those people: "We've evolved beyond that cruelty [eating meat]." I wanna tell these people, "NO. NO! EVOLUTION DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY! STOP ABUSING WORDS!"

If we evolved past eating meat we would either:
A. Get violently sick from eating meat
B. Filter feed off air particles
C. Not need such specific diet plans when eating vegetarian or vegan because plants would give us the majority of nutrients easily

I think the better term is "science has improved to the point where we can survive without meat" what with supplements and knowledge of nutrition so that we can plan balanced meals.

They'll find an excuse to justify their militant vegan claims, some how. Maybe they'll say that the animals are animatronics, or the animals were trained to act like they're being treated in a civilized manner, like the whole was just a giant scripted demonstration.

lol so this thread is still having arguments with imaginary vegans instead of actually posting wackadoo shit militant vegans say?

I promise I'll screencap the next vegan tumblr/newspaper letter to the editor I find. I was having trouble locating one I read in actual paper news. They pop up every now and then.
