I think it is incredibly incredibly incredibly... incredibly unlikely that Wu had any hand in this. It is just as likely to be a fat ass :ween: as it is to be some crusading idiot anti, as it is to be a pro who thinks that pretending to be an anti calling in a threat will accomplish something.

When there's this many people jacking off it is damn hard to figure out who's jizz hit the biscuit.

My theory is that Wu locked herself down to prevent any possibility of being tied to this Autism. She knew she couldn't trust herself to say nothing stupid, so on went the lockdown. I originally thought she was Randwhale Maneuvering and changing accounts, but this was false; @Feministx, her secondary account, hasn't seen any activity in almost a week.

John bailed because Jim put him on the canvas. I bet John also got some backchannel advice from the likes of Glenn to dial it back and regroup.

Handy to do it now because of the SPJ event and the anniversary of the Zoe Post. John can paint it as reflecting on the year of his "martyrdom".

Allow me to put on my tin-foil hat: Maybe Wu didn't plan it, but was a part of it.

Though before I go any further into unsubstantiated accusations I'd like to state that I know there's no evidence to back this up and until we get some sort of definite proof this is all just sperging on the net. I just find it kind of suspicious that Wu takes a break from twitter when shit goes down.

Everyone knows it was Arthur Chu who had bomb threat detail that day.

What the fuck is going on here, why just up and leave twitter for days like this? I wonder if he even showed up at the office today...

But the NY bomb treat didn't run him off, is it because this whole thing was bigger? Can some police man please light the Wu-signal, i.e. shoot some niggers. I'm starting to get worried.

I thought the Wu-signal was a penis with some scissors next to it?

Not quite.

While it's certainly possible (and increasingly likely, given the radio silence) that Wu wasn't involved with the bomb threat, as she would've started ranting about this shit while the iron was hot, it's extremely unlikely that she won't make it about her in some way when she gets back.

This is her perfect scenario for whining about #GamerGate.

Oh thats for sure-- though all this conspiracy wackadooing that's been going on is only going to give her something to laugh about, and she'll be right. A bunch of people claiming you called in a bomb scare just cause you're not on twitter is silly. It's the sort of silly bullshit that you point and laugh at.

I hate being a position to defend Wu, but there's no connection here and we're acting like it's some big thing. It ain't. Some idiot called in a bomb scare, it has nothing to do with Wu, she's said nothing about it and done nothing about it. But there's what? Seven or eight posts trying to link her to it.

Hell if someone like Shaner was saying that the farms called in a bomb scare over some train yard because we stopped talking about him for two days, we'd be laughing our asses off.

I found this fun quote from Frank Wu regarding the development of Revolution 60 in issue 266 of that Drink Tank fanzine (2010):

"A lot of the computer skills she’s developing are for her own videogame, called “Revolution60” or “Rev60” for short. It’s an extension of her art, which is full of tall, sexy, scantily-clad girls (about her body proportions, but with less clothing) blowing stuff up and shooting lasers and machine guns. She’s developing the game – which is a turn-based tactics game – for eventual release on the iPhone. So... in a year (or less, we hope), keep an eye out for “Rev60”!"

It took her six years to develop Revolution 60. Six. Years. How does it take that long to make a game with horrible graphics and almost zero interaction?!

I made an error, it was from the 2010 issues. That's what happens when you read a zillion issues of a group of weirdo's blog-like fanzine.

Well, that's sorta inaccurate.

... She barely did any designing. Most of the developing team she hired did Revolution 60, and she basically fired all of them once it was released.

Frank Wu's blindness confirmed.

Pre-Project. Plan to develop a game on an operating system you don't understand and is impractical for the game you want to make.

Step 1. Fire the development team you hired to design the game after they create something that "doesn't fit your vision" (ie. they made an actual game and you suck so bad that you can't even get past the first level).

Step 2. Hire a couple of inexperienced coders on the cheap to redo the existing game. Also try doing some yourself after reading the first two chapters of "Coding for Dummies" and then have the inexperienced coders fix things after your inevitable screw-ups.

Step 3. Bitch on Twitter.

Step 4. Engage in sycophantry.

Step 5. Continue to bitch on Twitter.
