I don't understand why they expect NijiEN to take off when nijisanji isn't even half of Hololive brand in the west.
They could have if they had a male Vtuber in their ranks - there are already plenty of idol/GFE vtubers in Holos, it was pretty dumb of Niji to force themselves into that market

Their male talents have always been successful, they should have focused on that for their EN branch.

The fact that they didn't shows they're still wary of the EN market, and are "playing it safe" by basically doing what HoloEN and VShojo does (full girl groups)

Dice in official promotion material. Hololive and Mori just doesn't give a fuck.
But wait, there's more! ...maybe.
According /vt/, some of these are apparently somehow references to some of Karen's discography (i.e. the cases to the left of the only one that's labeled):

Of course, it's /vt/, so it's probably bullshit.

The more popular people will get clipped, which leads to more popularity. This much is true. but I again call back to quantity. but look at this shit. 50 talents in 2019 alone. You may have the best movie of the year, but if it's released on the same weekend as 10 others, good luck. I don't have time to sort through that shit, nor do the clippers. So there probably are hidden gems in Niji, but unless they get discovered by a very loud fanbase who makes them known they are SOL.

This is where the quantity argument comes from IMO. It's not so much that Niji has a ridiculous number of talents, but they began earlier and (on average) add more per gen than Cover. Niji's real issue though is that they weren't lucky enough to combine a talent meme moment with the black swan of worldwide lockdowns. Fubuki's Scatman, early clips of Pekora laughing, and Korone game clips for example led a lot with plenty of free time in late 2019 and early-mid 2020 down the rabbit hole, which from there helped spark Hololive's astronomical growth.

In short, the serendipitous timing of Covid and those breakout moments gave Hololive its dominance. It's also why those invested in the ecosystem around them like clippers aren't about to abandon it either; time spent clipping Niji girls comparatively few are familiar with is time wasted not one-upping another clipper in releasing immediate (and often mid-stream) Hololive content.

For Hololive now it's pretty much a positive feedback loop - i.e. snowballing - at this stage, and why it's suggested the NijiEN girls need to push their own memes. With the field so large and only growing larger, you need a big moment to break through and get noticed long enough to start your own snowball.

Their male talent sure is successful but that only applies in japan branch i haven't seen that on KR or ID branch.

Niji KR was mentioned before.
I think this was previously posted.
Her model has somewhat lulu'esque aura about it.

They do they currently have like 5 wave or basically 5 generation for that branch. Their biggest liver in KR is Bora.
I'm not counting KR as they are basically JP 2.0 and are riding off the backs of Kuzuha and Kanae and Apex

Heck the most popular KRs are the ones that pander to the JPs

NijiID males are plenty popular though.

ID males feel like they are riding off the back of Hana, who is single handedly carrying the entire branch at this point.

So Nijien succes or nah, I mean Ive literally seen no clips about them with many views I even try to look for then
I personally think they've put themselves in a good spot. They all have dedicated clip channels, and management seems to be far more lenient on them engaging with the Indie scene. They've also attracted the attention of VOMS, VSHOJO, and HoloID for future collaborative work.

Elira will probably reach 100K subs this week, and they all do pretty well for donations. Of course, comparing raw numbers to Hololive is a colossal waste of time, but they have a 'core' they can build off, and they all work well together in collaborations.

Whether the top brass of Anycolor consider them a success is anyone's guess, but so far everything seems to be green.

This isn't really important at all, but I think it's worth sharing since it's pretty funny. It seems like the Google album-art display for the DemonDice song "Gang Gang, Kawaii" has been fucked up.

Normally, when you search for songs on Google, the results on the side usually show a related piece of art for the song, I.E. an album cover or something of the like. But for this song, it shows this:

It seems like none of the other Dice songs have any issues like this (I haven't tried them all, but the few I did try displayed the correct art), so I decided to see what the cause of this was.

It turns out that some random dude literally reuploaded the song onto SoundCloud 3 months ago, and Google decided to use this literal nobody's song image as the album art for some fucking reason. [Archive]

The best part is that this upload of the song is actually just an MP3 rip of the YouTube video, and the uploader was too retarded to cut out the literal 4-minute promo for her other songs at the end :story:

And she did it by being her real, unsanitised, degenerate adult self.
most are tho. you can't really fake being a degenerate, just look at senchou. you either are or you aren't, and for most even if you try it will come through sooner or later in some form. pekora shying away from it can either mean she's an even bigger degenerate and desperately wants to hide it or is really that innocent/sheltered

that's just numberfagging on a higher level tho. the same argument could be made for mel or aki, or heck even luna, which has probably the most "meme" schtick of all of hololive, but hardly the numbers to prove that's all it takes.

they're still part of niji, and from a glance (knowing next to nothing about it) they seem to be ok with, given the numbers some of their JP talents have. of course everybody likes big numbers and something gaining it's own momentum, but imo it's not a "do or die" case. you can still be somewhat successful if it's among your expectations and business operation (as in, how much does niji cost to run for example).

instead of desperately trying to become meme material (we know from reddit how well that works) it's more sensible to grow it slow and steady. as for that quantity of talent, subs alone would help. one of the reasons kizuna ai exploded as she did were subs available almost instantly, in several languages (lot of those were fansubs, but still). however, over time the more and more hololive gets clipped by more and more people, some will inevitably switch to either other holos or talents altogether, since it will still be more patreon bucks this way than otherwise. the same market dynamics still apply.

Didn’t see anyone else mention it, but Kano (formerly of Hanayori Girl’s Dormitory) has apparently gotten a makeover and changed her channel name to Mahoro Kano channel.

She’s also hidden all her videos that aren’t music videos, and it seems like we’re all going to pretend this is her debut (stream title is “first presentation. nice to meet you, though I feel like we’ve met before. maybe I’m misremembering?” which seems appropriately tongue-in-cheek). She was pretty quiet after HGD broke up, so I hope things have finally shaken out for her.

It’s a cute look, though it seems very overdesigned compared to the old Kano.View attachment 2215159

Shiraishi Yukino did the exact same thing a few days ago. Rebranding as 'Nekono Yukino' (I think) and deleting all but her music, then re-debuting.

Yukino was an Indie, though, so why she did that just completely vexes me.

maybe I'm late... but when the hell did Ina's Japanese become jouzu. Wasn't she above Ame in terms of JSL but below Calli?
She's definitely better than Mori, but behind Kiara in proficiency.
All Things Considered yesterday was pretty good imo.
The talk with Kiara and A -Chan was pretty interesting.
Also the chicken is going to be hitting the big 1 million soon.
The Reddit review was probably the best one in a good while.
Kiara hit the big M a few minutes after ago. Damn, right before her stream. Imagine if people would unsubscribe just to mess with her numbers when she starts streaming lmao
