Geez, now that it's revealed that both parents are narcs, I really fear for Bowie. In my experience, a child of two narcs often ends up just as fucked up as their parents, and why wouldn't they? Poor guy. The odds are stacked against him.

It isn't just being exposed to their parents personalities, it is the personality traits that get inherited genetically. The chances of a child of 2 cluster Bs being any less shitty than their parents is pretty low. They are going to inherit about half of their personality traits from their parents, when both are bad people for very similar reasons you end up with a whole pack of monsters in one household. Children have to harbor the capacity to grow into monsters in case that is what is needed to survive the world while they inhabit it. It is important for the possibility of sociopathy to exist and hopefully carry people through to an age where it isn't needed to get by (like now! we made it!). A very ugly part of the history of human beings on earth, but since its beyond anyone's control it is hard to worry about it too much. Tess's kids are well on their way to being whatever they will ultimately become. Don't worry too much.

Russel Greer is a good example of someone with the genetics of a shitty cluster b type family transplanted into a loving healthy family. It didn't make much of a difference for him to be taken up by normals, all things considered. Those types of personalities make for a really poor foundation to deal with their parents NPD bullshit OR abandonment, they end up horrible and bitter either way and there is no third option to fix them. It is a long chain of suffering that has the theoretical chance of correcting course, but almost never does.

I mean this generally of course. There are some people that miraculously make it out of such families with a semblance of a soul, it just isn't common.

If it is any consolation: tess will suffer horribly because of what she turned her kids into, she will depend on them as her health deteriorates and they will reflect the sort of "care" they received right back at her. You see this a fair amount when shitty people get old and are in and out of hospitals, their kids show up and act appallingly towards the sick parent. Since tess is a mega fatty she will go through all this at a much accelerated rate when her body gives out several decades early. She won't understand why she totally deserves the treatment she will get, but that's about as close to justice as such people ever experience.

It's so sad. Oftentimes the best case scenario with parents like these is that with good fortune (like having caring adults/community elsewhere), good sense, and by the grace of God, some manage to outmaneuver taking on the malignant/narc traits. But the flip side is growing up to be a vulnerable, delicate person who suffers things like depression, anxiety, gets involved in abusive relationships, etc. Certainly not all children of narcs become narcs (just like not all raped/abused people grow up to do that, which seems obvious now but that's what society used to assume), still, even if you manage to not become a piece of shit and use malicious means to fulfill your needs, the wounds are still there.

For every horrid grown child who shows up at the nursing home treating their narc mom like shit, there's one who shows up desperate for their mom to change and love them (it won't happen), or, if they manage to heal enough, one who doesn't show up at all.

she’s a rough 35, ESPECIALLY for a so-called model who needs to invest in skin protection at all costs. She clearly wears no sun cream, doesn’t take sun precautions seriously and just slaps on whatever viscous, food-smelling goop she gets suckered into overpaying for.

She drinks alcohol a lot, she puckers her face up smoking cigs and joints a lot; she stuffs herself with processed sugars and rubbish and likely dehydrates her skin by drinking loads of coffee and sugary drinks and little water (the food you eat doesn’t directly fuck your skin, but some things like sugar and caffeine can up cortisol levels, which DO fuck your skin up); she probably falls asleep in makeup; whatever the fuck she uses to lube up her greasy pores for that “dewy look” is clogging the fuck out of them, and I doubt she reliably exfoliates or uses a regular retinol product, which should be mandatory at her age.

Someone discussed pores earlier and asked why hers look huge and if they can shrink...pores cannot be “tightened” up again, that’s a myth. But they can be minimized in appearance by keeping them clear of oil and dirt, and exfoliating regularly to remove dead skin cells. The more dead skin you leave on your face, the more it clogs up and widens the pore appearance. Keeping pores clean and clear doesn’t “tighten” them, but it keeps them from being stretched out with all the gunk in them. Imagine a sock with a bunch of rocks stuffed in it, versus a sock with nothing in it. The empty sock looks smaller simply because it’s not full of stuff. You can’t take the empty sock and shrink it further, but you can keep it looking as small as possible by not putting anything in it.

Sun UV exposure also destroys the collagen levels in your face. 90% of the aging signs on your face are from the sun. I’m betting Ryann is a dumb basic bitch who thinks giant sunglasses and the paltry nothing-amount of sun cream in her foundation is enough to protect her. If she does use sun cream, she likely puts a dollop at best on her face alone in the morning and expects that to last all day. I’m betting she also sweats it off quickly. Sun cream never touches her chest either, as you can see from all the spotting and damage on it. The skin on your chest is thin and fragile and UV wrecks it as easily as your face. Ryann’s chest looks reddened and leathery and covered in sun spotting.

She’s got the typical skin of a woman who said “fuck it I’m young and having funnnnn!” in her 20’s and skipped the sun cream and broad hats, and now in her 30’s is scrambling to undo all the damage. But you can’t undo that damage, only prevent further damage, which she is also not doing. And now she has the skin of a 45 year old. She really is intensely stupid, continuously ruining her face and body when they are her only way of earning income. Good job, supermoddle.
