If I remember correctly, they mentioned in a podcast that Griffin was noticeably pregnant during the wedding so I'd say that was a factor.
Also, he jumps into marriage pretty quickly. I think he married his first wife after six months, then Griffin after eight months, and there was a joke on early RT podcast that his next wife was going to be someone he dated for ten months.
They were having a party to celebrate the divorce being finalized and that was when they announced their engagement. Apparently everyone then told him what a terrible idea that was. Betting he wished he'd listened now.

So I noticed in the last Off Topic Michael doesn't make much of an effort to use Lindsay's preferred pronouns. He referred to her as "her" then called her by name. I don't watch much anymore but I don't think I've ever heard him refer to Lindsay as "they". Not that I blame him.
