RPGnet Forums

Yeah, 'Not A Decepticon' has a pretty heavily documented history of being a cocksucker. Like @Hugbox Kommissar I'm inclined to give this one the benefit of the doubt.

This schmuck got a two day for 'hostile posting', but he's stated he's taking a few months off RPGnet anyways. Gotta say, this looked like he got baited into getting irritated and then Seiberwing swooped in for the infraction.

EDIT: Someone noticed Slerotin's ban didn't have anything attached to it, and mods declared:

"The thread in question was trolling nonsense, posted in an area we thought had been configured to only allow posts by staff. We moved it to the thread graveyard, so it's not accessible by non-staff now."

Forgive me if I remain unconvinced by RPGnet mod faggots that 'everything is just fine'. I wonder what Slerotin posted that was so egregious it warranted a permaban.

Probably criticising the mod team or the community, like anyone else who get gets banned from there.
Anyone who multiquotes so they can respond line by line is a huge faggot and should be mocked as such.
Well, I see it as setting other the guy up so that if he doesn't address every one of your posts, he can call him a faggot for avoiding the question.

It's still gay, though.

Jesus Fucking Krypton.

Seriously, just... read the thread. I don't want to spoil it.

Also, someone named 'Slerotin' got the axe, but no idea what triggered (lol) it. Dawgstar banned him under Rule 0, but the linked post/thread doesn't exist.

My educated guess is that Slerotin posted a thread that got him in the shit. What's interesting is (a) the thread is gone, not just locked, and (b) Slerotin has NO prior transgressions. None, zip, zero, nada. He hasn't posted much, and his prior posts seem fairly innocuous.
I'm pretty certain rule 0 is a reference to UK Larp where many places unofficially have rule 0 which is "don't take the piss." Akin to rule 0 for systems it's useful for when people break the rules in a way the rules do not allow for stopping but also is open to abuse.

So Dawgstar is either likely UK based or stole that.

Naw. 'Rule 0' on RPGnet's been posted for a while now.

Normally I wouldn't object to a 'rule zero' ejection, I simply don't believe the mods there act in good faith.

I assumed most RPG groups had Rule Zero: DM is god and what they say goes. Of course the power-hungry mods of Raging Penis Gobblers Net take it as their way of silencing any criticism of themselves or their beliefs

Is it "don't take the piss?"

Because yeah, if they're starting to ban under that then they're just being lazy. If you cannot justify it through one of the other rules with the mental hoops they've jumped through for some of the bannings posted here then they might as well just write "fuck you" as "rule 0." Also the disappearance of the thread/post really makes me suspicious it was an utter nothing burger. If it had been someone who signed up just to post Trump memes that would have been a decent rule 0 and worth leaving to prove that nasty evil people do it.

Rule 0 is, basically, "We reserve the right to warn, suspend, or ban as we see fit even if it's not against a specific rule".

Otherwise known as the "you don't fit in here" rule. You'll sometimes see an infraction to the effect of "Permanent Ban (Rule 0: Bad fit for the board)"

Thanks.

Yeah with how far they're willing to stretch the rules at the moment to justify bans a rule 0 one stinks to high heaven.

In practice, Rule 0 can be--and is--invoked to kick anyone out for any reason, or for no reason at all. They just want to keep their hugbox huggy.

Just about every group with more than three people is going to have a rule 0, or they're not going to BE a group any more. There's always assholes who join groups solely to disrupt them, and the solution is to give them the heave-ho.

Doesn't matter if it's a gaming group, a forum, a political org, a MUD, etc, etc, ad nauseum.

I just don't believe RPGnet's mods act in good faith.

The problem with Rule 0 is that it relies on good faith by the executor, which means one has to hope they abide by the rest of the group’s covenants instead of acting like unaccountable tyrants where the only option is to walk away. As you said, RPGnet is not modded by good-faith actors.

In a functioning group, RPGnet's mods would literally be the people kicked out to keep the group functioning.

Haha amazing. They pitched a fit about the robot from MST3K too, it got renamed in the Netflix series.

Amazing. The new name is "GPC" ... which still sounds almost identical to "gypsy," you neurotic, pathetic, pandering, wetbrain fucks.
Ffs, there is an (original run) My Little Pony named Gipsy, that is how inoffensive that is.
I just saw a thread at MLPArena explaining to few of those people how it is not something to make a stink over.

...in all of those posts, he was taking the opposite position of what he was accused of taking.

And he was factually accurate about the spread of Christianity.

"Religious colonialism" !

Looking through mindstalk's posts, he is mostly on topic with actual RPG related threads, not political-sperging. The sort of poster you'd want to have if you actually care about the supposed subject matter of the place.
