Obligatory reminder this is the third time Billy's asked for money to replace a broken tablet. First in August 2015, and then again in November 2017. Dude must have an addiction to throwing $3000 Wacom Cintiqs down the stairs.
Even though the house they are repairing is probably going to cost tens of thousands of euros, quite possibly even more than €100k. And even if that tablet is a top of the line Cintiq, he can afford it, and write it off as a business expense.
He won't though, because every time he mentions needing money in order to continue to make comics, he gets a sudden spike in donations.
And last fall? Last fall? He's been without a graphics tablet for over half a year? Doubt. He probably could have bought one any time he wanted, but chose not to, so at least then he'd have a plausible excuse for not squeezing out comics as regularly as before. Isn't the real reason that certain *AHEM* ... side projects were eating into his comic-making time?
But seriously, a fucking Cintiq? That's like buying a $3000 violin for your retarded kid's music lessons. No, worse than that even – because if your kid fucking broke the violin, you wouldn't go out and replace it with an equally expensive violin.
