Ignoring the fact that his subathon has already given him a nest egg larger than most of us make in a year, he’s incredibly close with Tubbo who’s been working overtime to be accepted into more stable streaming communities like the Mizkif/Ludwig group. I will say though out of all the biggest MCYTers he’s definitely the most likely to snap

The subathon that he did to give to the Trevor Project? He is rich though, you're right about that. And he seems to be pretty stingy so kudos to him. I think that overtime he'll be fine but I feel bad because his fanbase is entirely people that simp for him and then try and cancel him at a moments notice. Like I said, he obviously has some kind of anxiety and mental health issues and is afraid of his fanbase.
Good for him for being close with Tubbo though, that seems to be a pretty grounded relationship and he has been streaming more variety lately. Getting out of the Minecraft clutches but by bit is the best choice.

As of right now (4 months later) 70% of those subs remain. Unless he's continued to donate them to the Trevor Project that's roughly 800,000 dollars in those months the subathon wasn't occurring. And that's not even counting bits/donations

Yeah he's definitely still rich as fuck but at least he did a seemingly genuine nice thing instead of doing it for audience pandering like most of that ilk do. I don't really mind his being rich though, he's not a horrible person and it's not like he's a big CEO that's exploiting normal people. It's just teenage girls spending their pocket money which, while a little dumb, isn't hurting anyone that badly. If he's smart he'll save up and outlive the Minecraft clout.

I don't think it's remotely going to kill Minecraft. To the level of interest now? Yeah probably, since most of Dream's fans don't care about Minecraft. However youtube series like Hermitcraft and Scicraft (the peak minecraft autism series) gained a ton of popularity during the pandemic and I have a feeling it's going to stay that way since fans of those series care more about the inner workings of the game itself since that's what their main focus is.

However I can see the Dream SMP and shit like that drying up in views as Dream slowly loses more and more popularity when his "kittens" grow up.

Unlikely I know but could be a good laugh, although I do hope dreams fans don't start to grift towards the other servers if he implodes. I know this has been discussed before, but it depends on which "friends" you're talking about. When/If Dream collapses, Dream Team is basically done for, as he really is their backbone (he probably loves knowing that too). His other "friends" (idk if they're even his friends) in the SMP, however, are pretty solid and they stand alone pretty well. Just look at Ranboo. This may also be a stretch too, as Ranboo really blew up because he's in the SMP, so who's to say that when the SMP ends, he'll still remain relevant without the DSMP crutch. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out though.
