Not a regular browser of this thread, but this may be of interest. Furry documentary maker and bad hairstyle extraordinaire Ash Coyote is making a documentary on the Tranch.

I want to add that Mr ash here has only ever made 2 documentaries before this, the infamous "the fandom" documentary which plays more like a video essay that goes on for too long and a documentary called "hero" which is about a furry with lung cancer

I want to add 2 things as well

the ad already showed their alpacas in the fucking snow, Isn't that a bad thing? I remember seeing someone in this thread mentioned as such and number 2

another sniper rifle? Also how is that useful just being carried on sling with what seems to be no bipod to set it up on when you go under attack.

EDIT: this is one of TWO documentaries ash is making, she made a video a few months back talking about following 2 different individuals for about a year for a documentary, so I do not expect this thing to be out anytime. The other individual is a mystery to me, who could it be? not for this thread thats for sure

Fucking troons acting like they still have the stones to shoot someone. It's fun to dress up and play soldier but when it comes time to actually pull the trigger, I bet the people they'd be pointing guns at would be a lot more mentally and emotionally prepared to do it than the manchildren at Club Troon.

He's not doing anything wrong by having a sling and bipod, but he's also not doing anything right either. A rifle sling is like a pistol holster. You need one to carry the weapon unless you just remove the rifle case from your car, put it on the bench, shoot the rifle, and then reverse the process. Precision shooting has changed a lot in the past 10-20 years driven by the GWoT. There are purpose built rifle slings for precision shooting. They may incorporate an arm loop to allow steady off-hand shooting like older slings from the 80s and 90s or be able to anchor to a belt or tripod for stability. Using a sling on a precision rig isn't wrong, but there is a right way to do it and I'm sure he just has some Amazon Choice tier shit.

Bipods aren't the end all be all anymore. They certainly have their place, but so do other pieces of stabilizing equipment. Tripods using camera mounts and adapters came to prominence in the 2010s. Now there are purpose built shooting tripods and mounts like the HOG* Saddle. PIG* Skins and other barrier stops let a shooter quickly stabilize against elements of the environment like a fence or a window frame.

Military precision shooting became a lot more dynamic thanks guys like Gunnery Sergeant Coughlin, a Marine Corps Scout Sniper. His book Shooter is a good read and goes into is thought process of changing the idea of sniping from two guys crawling in ghille suits for days to a team of shooters moving into positions on the front line where they can have an impact by making some shots and moving on. This shift in philosophy gave rise to the position of Designated Marksmen in squads and platoons which has been a staple of Eastern armies for decades. They get rifles and training not up the level of a traditional sniper but beyond that of the average grunt.

*HOG and PIG are acronyms used in USMC STA platoons to delineate who has passed Scout Sniper Course and who hasn't. A Hunter of Gunman has graduated and Professionally Instructed Gunman has not. There is gear maker at the forefront of the precision shooting world who was a 8541 and he uses the acronyms in the names of his gear.

This photo is far more amusing, a flashlight on a rifle whose only optic is a high zoom scope.

A good documentary would try to find these right-wing militias, but I know it's just going to accept their fake tears at face value.
With Bonnie saying things like "don't let those liberals keep you from protecting yourself" and all the military larping, it sounds like they were the right wing militia all along. They are still a bunch of white dudes (or white adjacent in Bonnie's case) who hate the government and love guns. In most liberal circles, that would be enough to get them labeled an alt+right militia. The only thing preventing that is the pronoun larping.

Uh huh. I only made the comment considering its a sniper rifle and if you were in the middle of a field and came under fire, trying to fire that thing like a rifle would be far more difficult than just setting on the ground with a bipod. Also thanks for the bit of insight in change of precision shooting

Nah that's just the "liberals get the bullet too" shtick. Hating on libs is the cool new trend.

Why is it under the rifle?
Because they don't know what they're doing, but we already knew that. I assume he put the light there because that is where some rail comes pre-installed from the factory for a bipod and take your pick on whether they a too lazy, stupid, or ignorant to change it. A six o'clock mounting position on a rifle can be fine, but not when it's a precision rifle like that and you're going to be resting it on barricades or putting something like a bipod that can't go elsewhere.

What's really dumb is the wire management. Having the push button wire stretched out like that is asking for it get ripped off. Gear can get cluttered rather quickly and become a snagfest in actual operations if you don't keep your shit tight. Zip ties, rubber bands, and duck tape keep things in place. Phil has a 6-8" wire connector from his new $800 ear pro just flopping around in the trailer. Lucky for the Tranch that the greatest threat they face is falling down their own front stairs.

You just unsling the rifle and shoot it prone. Bipods can be easier, but plenty of traditional prone competition shooting is done with just slings and it works just fine. There are different ways you can wrap a sling around your arm to make the rifle very stable whether you're standing, sitting, prone, etc for added stability. Modern slings slings generally have quick pulls for resizing the sling and fancy ones can have loops, anchor points, etc to make this easier.

While I do know that alpacas don't really mind the snow because they're from the Andes, I'm pretty sure they don't live in caves where they're packed like sardines by their shepherds. If only the Tranch had like 30 acres or so and $100k to build a barn or two. Maybe they're fixing up the earthship for the alpacas to live in.

Wild animals living in the snow or 'outside' is not comparable to animals living as domestic livestock, unable to move freely, and tended by humans to produce a specific product like wool, meat, milk, etc. Wild animals get sick, injured, killed by predators, kill each other, get parasites, starve, freeze, and then die. These conditions are unacceptable among penned-in domestic animals because they reduce productivity of the herd, reduce herd numbers, and are generally recognized as animal cruelty as the human caretaker is responsible for their well being. Their alpaca shed is even more sad after seeing pictures of proper facilities.

I still cant get over the double-mag either. Because every millisecond counts when reloading your bolt-action sniper rifle.
This is just funny. Also, the rifle at some point had a bipod, but i guess it wont work as a display-piece when thats attached.
