Things with her family are always so cringe. I remember around her birthday her whole demeanor around her family and her anger when she left. She obviously had not gotten the attention/asspats/something that she felt she deserved. It was clear that they don't treat her the way she feels that she is OWED for some reason. I think that is why on her sister's birthday she livestreams and makes it all about her. She feels owed something by everyone. There is just a whole lot of fucked up dynamics there. I give her no free pass on how she behaves at 37 for having a fucked up family. Lots of people have fucked up families, no dad, shitty parents, etc...and they still are functioning adults. I agree with others that her family placates and just tolerates her so they don't have to put up with her rages. When you look at just what we've seen on camera when she's denied what she wants or thinks she deserves, I can only imagine what she's like when the camera is off. It is just easier to let her do whatever and get her gone as fast as possible.
As an aside, there are people who have amazing parents and are still shitty adults. How much of Chantal's problems can be laid at the feet of her mother is debatable. The story regarding her father has fluctuated between he abandoned her and that her mother kept him away because he was a violent alcoholic back then. Personally, I blame Chantal alone for how she behaves, her stunted emotional maturity of a teenager, her slovenly living, and how she treats others.
