You know, that's the first picture that came up when I googled it too. I wonder who thought that that shot featuring typical depressing English weather, Soviet style building and smokestacks in the background would be the best picture to represent the city. Well, I guess it is called "Scunthorpe" after all. It fits.

For the benefit of Americans, Scunthorpe is roughly the British equivalent of Cleveland. The massive steelworks is the only source of employment in the dirt-poor, horribly polluted shitheap of a town, and it's constantly laying off staff and on the verge of bankruptcy. (Ironically the original Cleveland, about 30 miles north of Scunthorpe, is pretty similar except that its steelworks did close and it's just a dole-hole.)

I would just point out that local newspaper websites in the UK love reporting RTC's and if there's a death involved they're all over it
They often don't use names until there's been a court case but they do report this shit
The other main source for this stuff is the twitter feeds of Police, and the various regional Highway Agency's accounts, plus local traffic watchers
Accidents, and road closures due to them, always get tweeted

Searching Lincolnshire, Humberside, Yorkshire for the date and around it turns up nothing that seems it could be this

But ofc I may be missing it

Edit: And it could be anywhere tbh, England is pretty tiny and crowded round there

Most of the north of england looks like Scunthorpe :story: all the rich people live in the south and all the depressed northerners with houses stained shit coloured from soot get fuck all.
Just being british makes you want to drive into traffic, but you can thank your lucky stars you don't live in scunthorpe :story:

Complete lack of existence is still an upgrade from that. If there is an afterlife, even if it is the most awful punishing tormenting trauma inducing hellish punishment ever imagined by man... it'd still be an improvement. I don't need to read the rest of this thread to know, that is a dying industrial town in Northern England. The North of England is where fun, joy, and happiness go to die.

Someone find the body. We need evidence otherwise, fake and gay.

When I was enlisted in the Israeli Air Force Foreign Auxiliary Forces (AKA USAF) I had the privilege of being stationed in what I call the "Alabama of England". People from the UK call the area East Anglia but really it's just their version of white trash America. Anyways, while there I had the opportunity to travel all over that god forsaken Muslim island and I can tell you there are hundreds of places in the UK that look just like this. Absolute madness.
