I'd get examples as he did this a lot during the Darkviper video but can't right now.

Haven't watched the Hasan stream at all to see how Dream tried to take advantage of that. I don't think Dream is aware of how insane Hasan is so I hope it's at least somewhat entertaining.

Talking to Hasan was definitely more than his apparently existent fangs could chew on. Once again Dream overestimated himself, especially considering how much in shambles he is at the moment. He failed to see that the snaky manipulation tactics appealing to more moderate people, don't really work on a zealous berserk, self-admittedly more left leaning than the alt-left. Which likely means operating solely on self-serving moral superiority, and not reason or empathy, qualities needed to be affected by Dream's classic sympathy, buddy-buddy, "what I did was relatable and understandable" play.

It was more of an interrogation on how extreme his wokeness level is, so he had to act like a dumb, naïve , sheltered kid, who never heard of Trump's politics, but just thought he was funny and had no idea who Jordan Peterson is. So basically being on the receiving end of someone like his stans, not caring about the actual topic, just wanting attention and out-SJWing everyone else in a holier than thou kind of manner. And this rare time the moral supremacist was not being horny for him, although our boy Clay tried his shot:

Probably a Cole hand-cam or a mask will suffice. I don't think anyone is too pressed about his integrity at the moment anyway, having him on feels like a meme.

Dream is kind of relatable. In the sense that he does things which a 13-16 year old would think is the right thing to do, but actually isn't.

It's like he thinks nobody can see through his façade, because he himself believes it, which isn't something someone who is aware of their actions would do if it meant he was actively, and intentionally, as malicious as he comes across. This leads people to overestimate Dreams maliciousness I think. It's hard to say, because he might be as malicious as he seems, but be too stupid to know how bad he comes across because of how highly he views his ability to persuade people. Or maybe he isn't intentionally as malicious as he comes across, but he just has a bad habit of digging himself deeper into a hole instead of just being honest.

In my mind, only someone who is incredibly naïve would genuinely think buddying up to people like Hasan, or talking with people like NoahHugBox, Mizkif et al. will be the best way to remedy their brand, simply by acting genuine, and willing to accept "criticism" which Dream immediately undercuts by his attempts to justify his actions and obfuscate his errors. Like he does when someone is better than him at Minecraft, he makes excuses about why he lost, or he gets mad but plays it off as a joke as if nobody notices.

I'm trying not to sound grandstandy myself by calling him immature, childish or any of those things. But Dream clearly has an idealised view of others and of how he thinks he'll be able to get away with some of the ridiculous things he does and says, by using the methods of pre-empting a potential criticism which makes him look way worse (eg. the tweet about flexing wealth) or by entering into discussions with people and acting as if by doing so he isn't attempting to do anything to salvage his reputation, which is somewhat hard to believe. Constantly defending yourself in the way Dream does, doesn't look good, it makes you look guilty, whether you are or not. And it seems to be something that people who are often naïve due to something like age, would do, because it's what they think is reasonable.

I don't know if I'm making any sense. It's hard to explain.

I'd say this is a pretty accurate assessment, being homeschooled and socialising mainly with teenagers and Badboyhalo from a position of authority and respect on the server isn't going to lead to many situations where one would have to expand their toolset for handling conflict. His defensiveness comes as a part of this attitude that there's always something he can do to further the goal he wants (cobblestone crafting table lol), even when doing nothing is the best choice.

It's a pretty realistic (or at least balanced) view of the two extremes of "dream is a chessmaster-dumbass narcissist" and "oh he's sweet darling that did nothing wrong". Taking into consideration the context of his life, he MAY be book smart (ergo "playing the algorithm" "knowing how to cuddle up to prominent people" "100 IQ minecraft strats"), but he's definitely not street smart and he's naively playing into the hands of people that would only bring him trouble

Maybe he really IS autistic, if that IQ to EQ theory is to be believed...

Personally, I feel sorry for the kid for being swept up by circumstance and I personally think he shouldn't have been doxed.
