The government get's monitored in its use of excess of power. The ones doing the monitoring would be public and private organizations. If you fuck up, you're gone. Such watch dog groups would stop politicians from doing their own thing for their personal goals which is all too common in politics.

I can get behind that, but the politicians will never allow for it. I'd prefer the jackboot I agree with to be shoved up my ass or complete anarchy where I can shove my boot up everyone else's ass and they have an equal opportunity to do the same to me.

Such a democracy would force the government to do things like putting the insane into group homes, look into people who are leeching off the government more often, stop politicians giving taxpayers money to terrorists (huge problem with Trudeau), control what laws get made so they work on large businesses instead of having them exempt. Force more spending into things like medical care and education.

Of course politicians would try and make sure such a democracy doesn't take hold as it gives the people more power. No politician wants that. It's why direct democracies died off.
