I admit defeat... Forwarded through DDM's restream and the conversation topics were: contributions (3x), reiteration of the sub-only mode and its implications (3x), talking about his schedule, shitting on twitch and claiming youtube is the best, shitting on new games and how they're all shit, shitting on Returnal and other games he has been playing, asking what the fuck is happening in New Vegas every 2 minutes...

The meaningful conversations now that the trolls are gone are too numerous. The sub-only mode has changed everything...

And now his chat is as dead as his twitch partnership. Truly, everything has changed.

Phil doesn't care how many viewers he streams to or how many people participate in the chatroom as long as the whale bombs still happen. Having less opinions to police is all that matters.
And the generous khantributions will happen because the whales don't care about the stream experience, just like Phil.

$65 in tips, 19 viewers allowed to chat and 380 total viewers. This ain't payin' the mortgage.

Garbage-tier CG'er streams get more viewers.

For being a mobile game whale himself, Dave has missed what the actual foundation of all these mobile games is.

The game itself isn't really the content, they're all basically the same thing with different wallpaper when you get down to it, it's more window dressing to draw people in and for the non-whale plebs to suffer through. The real content for the whales is being able to roflstomp other players constantly since they spend the money to get the best items/powerups. This is why mobile games have to seek out new players constantly, they need new whales to replace the ones that run out of cash but they also need a constant stream of plebs for the existing whales to dunk on. If the game runs out of either then it withers on the vine as people move onto something else.

For Dave's whales, the content for them isn't really Dave's streams, they seem to give him money regardless of what he's playing/doing. No, the real content for them is dunking on "da trollz" by handing over their money to Dave so they can watch the low quality youtube trolls react. By removing all of his trolls from the equation, Dave has effectively removed the whales' actual reason for being there.

It's the weirdest shit, that video. I don't see how it's possible to move your foot around like that. Maybe Kat is laying down on the floor next to him and it's her ogre foot we're seeing.

Don't let the pignosis fool you. $65 (now $75) is a large amount for a Youtube streamer to make for 2 hours of gameplay. And 380 is the high-end for DSP viewership anyway.

Folks seem to forget that Youtube takes 30% off the top and then there's another ~30% hit for taxes so he's only banking around 40 cents for every dollar that comes in.
