General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I clicked on a few vtuber vids and now my recommends are full of them.

But I will say it is funny that for a country that hates China as much as Japan, they are more than willing to bend over and take some chicom dick up the ass for a payday and nuke their top talent to appease Winnie.

my friend say that she said "I love all the livers but i hate the company" donno if its true or not

Delutaya/Aloe thinks thought Coco's graduation was a cover-up and was venting at Cover on twitter. This is pretty spicy and makes her own "voluntary" graduation be seen at a different light imo.
She deleted the first half after a few minutes.

There's a lot of sad news, huh?
I know it's a big company and there's always a cover-up, but this is really crazy. Go fuck yourself.
I love the livers, but I hate the management.
Not just gummed mouth, but glued. All the spears that flew at us were passed on to the performers and there was no response to slander. What do you mean reinforcement?
Seriously, they could be gone before you know it, so: Support your oshi as much as you can while you can
Especially those who are pushing for V, regardless of the company.
I've heard a lot of stories and experienced a lot of private voice acting agencies. I've experienced it first hand, but I've found the management to be really bad and dark. They could disappear at any time.
In the end, the only allies the performers have are their family members, creators, and fans. There may be exceptions, of course, but most of the time they are seen as tools of the trade. Their biggest support is definitely their fans. Please love them a lot.

Edit: It is highly likely she hadn't read the full story and didn't know Coco left the company on her own volition as confirmed by Mel, Choco and Miko on twitter. Which is probably why she deleted the rant after calming down and reading more hololive tweets (or getting told it in the replies).

Gonna sperg here, but this news hit me like a train a few hours ago and legit made me sad. However now I see this a good thing in a way. (after a liter of vodka and being up 23 hours) Regardless of how cover treated or mistreated Coco, I think she is gonna be OK. She is now independent, and we all know how smart and capable she is. If this brings the end of Hololive, they don't deserve to survive. We all know where we can see more of our Kaichou. She is going to continue doing what she loves doing, and is good at, just under a different face.

Yikes, this is going to be a huge blow for Cover if people catch wind of this.

Imagine being ranted on by the only other person that left your company on "amicable" terms.

I'd like to believe most people realized that was just PR speak back then, and some twitter salt a year later won't make much of a difference.
There was nothing amicable about her getting suspended for something that was mostly her manager's fault (which can be seen in these tweets, being angry at shitty management and lack of talent protection).

well lets see, if hololive or cover have any business with chinesse market after this in the next 2 year, i'm done with them and vtuber in general, tbh i can see mass exodus in western market if this happen, if aloe only appears 2 times on 1 week and the impact can be felt almost a year after, good luck with coco.

As fun as it is to doompost about antis, Chinese dick-sucking, corporate back-stabbing, and casting couches (get real), I think she just got fed up with Hololive and is gonna go independent.

Someone mentioned it earlier, but I think the "Fuck Yagoo" comments at the end of the Calli meme review were genuine. Not some big blow up, but she was expressing her frustration with Hololive's bureaucracy.

Think about it from Coco's perspective: What is she getting from Hololive? She's a top earner, yet she can't collab with EN. She can't do her AsaCoco segments. She doesn't get included in HoloGra. They can't even handle the spam competently (They actually bungled it even worse).

As an indie, she can do whatever content she wants. She doesn't get to collab with Hololive anymore, but can collab with just about anyone else. She'll lose some revenue (with Hololive out of the picture, maybe not), but who cares? Having the freedom seems like a price worth paying.

That's why the past few months she's been a bit more active as Kson. Testing the waters and laying the ground work to see if she could make the jump.

Hololive relaxing their restrictions on Coco collabing was their attempt to keep her around, but I think it was too little too late.

For many of the girls, going indie would be a death sentence into obscurity (looking at you, Calli), but in Coco's particular case I think it's the right move.

Oh you sweet summer child. I may have been drinking for the last four hours, but I'm still not going to get political because I can't be bothered.
Nah, this is not inherently political at all. Asian cultures often are stuck up with the past, even more so for China where the government used past grievances for huge part of their nationalism culture. And such tight grip on their society led to the current populace having that kind of culture because the party cultivated it
True, but you know, I just realized that this could all be a power play on her part, too. Once it nears the end of the month she could say "everyone's feelings reached me" or whatever and decide not to "graduate", and in the interum she'd have proven how valuable she is and how much sway she holds. It could be her way of making sure executives think twice in her favor, especially if China's trying to snake its way back into Cover's synapses somehow.

I'm still thinking it's a casting couching, but it could be that as well. We won't know what it really is until the end of the month.
Look, the casting couch is a bit silly, but if your theory about power play is proven true, I will gladly eat my hat
I'm not big on Nippon culture but I'm pretty sure that'd be seen as bad business, wouldn't it? Leaving a big group you're partially the face of to start a rival group.
Yup, it's a big no no in Japan, more specifically because of their talent jimusho culture

I don't understand. This popular streamer was fired because China complained? What happened?
