Women are generally socialized to be nice and polite, and that paired with the high importance placed on female beauty means that women - particularly those not close enough to each other to be honest - often end up gassing each other up not out of real conceit, but as reassurance and out of "nice-ness". When the plain Jane, unfashionable friend posts a pic of herself all dolled up for the evening, her friends feel a little pang of sympathy, and might remember those times they tried to look nice but felt ugly - so they leave positive comments to make her feel good. The average MtF doesn't know any of this, and takes all compliments at face value, genuinely believing every woman in his life thinks he's a stunning goddess. That and the usual troon flattery circlejerks give them a completely warped perspective of their own appearance. Thus we have all these MtFs claiming their female friends are "jealous", who are baffled strangers still call them "sir," etc, who always turn out to be ogres.

Ya know, oddly enough, there used to be a Wikipedia page with a list of transgender serial killers. It only had two people on it, but I guess that's offensive. It's been taken down. Female killers have a list, and they're now on it.

Search engines definitely bury these stories, and a lot of mainstream outlets have stopped mentioning that perpetrators are trans, so you end up with articles like "Florida Woman Sodomizes Baby With Slightly Smaller Baby" accompanied by a mugshot of a bearded man. Who needs good reporting and accurate statistics when feelings are at risk?

If this were an MTF, I’d say oh, it’s a sex thing, but in the case of an FTM, I think they just like dressing like an adult baby for non sexual reasons, which is weirder.

No, it's totally a sex thing. Kinda yaoi aligned too. I know that some ukes will be presented in very feminine clothing like this. Best example that comes to mind is the time where Ciel from Black Butler wore a Lolita style dress. It's a weird spin on forced feminization. They get off on being told that they're cute and wearing dresses (but misgendering is a hard limit!!).

I know a ftm who straight up calls herself male and says she has a male body (she works in the medical field so when she means male she means male). Another aspect of this that annoys me is that some well-meaning adults will respond by trying to enforce dress codes and other norms on kids, or detransitioned FTMs will suddenly think they have to start being hyper feminine to be women again. There's nothing wrong with telling these girls that they don't have a choice about their bodies changing at puberty, what I disagree with is trying to force makeup and "girly" things on them as a means to counter it. They should also be taught it isn't okay to be sexually harassed just for having breasts and developing. The same goes the other way for effeminate boys, I often see people implying it's healthy to double down with stereotypical behaviour or presentation even if it doesn't come naturally to the child. There's also no need to rush things like buying a bra, sports bras are a good option sometimes. This complete confusion about what it means to be a girl or woman is why there are so many FTM detransitioners. To them it's just a concept they couldn't identify with, especially the autists.
This only applies to the children though, adults need to be responsible for their own decisions when it comes to trooning out.

It's not the right way to deal with it because even ignoring that naturally masculine (or even women who just aren't very into makeup or dresses) exist, teenagers are naturally rebellious. If you tell Aiden that she should wear makeup and dresses, her teenage brain will see that as a sign to trans even harder just as a fuck you. When I was a teen these girls were the "not like other girls" girls who bragged about not being feminine and playing video games. Some of these grow up to be very feminine, and some of them grow up to still be more masculine. But modern "not like other girls" grow up to be infertile and with hysterectomies.
