She said she was going offline for a couple of days to do something and she was going to do something special this weekend, funny she did knew about Coco graduation because when she said she had something for us this week, chat ask her if it was meme reviews and she say "it definitely was not meme reviews" only to get somber a little after that

There really isn't a place to discuss this openly so a lot of people have bottled up feelings that they can't get out which results in outbursts like that.

I mean, isn't that the reason why people suddenly joined up just to post in this thread? /vt/ and reddit are definitely NG, twitter, discord, and even facebook are just too full of rrats and chink-hates flying about for people to process their grief in a coherent way.

I hope Coco at least has a stream with as many of the Hololive girls as she can. It'd be a shame if someone got left out.

Well, I never enjoyed her streams, but I know how I’d feel if any of my favorites graduated, so my condolances to those who are sad.

That said, I do hope that maybe this leads to some of the more annoying members of the English fan community going away and leaving the chats of the other girls cleaner and quieter.

In Coco's case, is it automatically (YouTube) or contractually (Cover)?
 
It doesn't really surprise me that there's enough rrats skittering around to make the community look like Willard, but like some people have said we will never (most likely) know the truth. A lot of people are overreacting and think Cover must be, once again, le evil megacorpo or whatever, and that's fine, but there's no proof of that either. All anyone can go by is what was said, and apparently it was amicable.

Coco is the first "legitimate" Hololive graduation. I don't count Kirisu, and I don't count Aloe, since neither of them ever got off the ground. But Coco, she's the zenith of the chuubin' world, so this makes it even more difficult that she's the first "real" one. I went on-record back in January saying that we would absolutely see our first Holo graduation(s) this year just for the fact that some of the talents are starting to get long in the tooth and maybe looking to close this chapter of their life and move onto a new entertainment job/industry. Some of them been on this junt for years now and I figure it's about time for them to think about skedaddlin'. I don't want that to be the case but, it's plain to see.

So anyway, with that in the back of my mind, imagine my shock when the first graduation happens to be Coco of all people. I mean, I wasn't that surprised since Chinkageddon is still going on, and of course people finger-point to Cover. They definitely gaffed it, but I also don't fully agree with that; there's only so much they can do before they have to put their faith into Youtube and Twitter to throw them a fuckin' bone, and that just didn't happen, because they're actual evil megacorpos and don't give a shit. Coco being "isolated" from collabs and other projects was a byproduct of YT dragging their feet and not helping her, as well. Could Cover have pressed on them a little harder to get help a little quicker? Yup, and they dropped the ball, but it's not totally on them, not at all.

Of course people are upset, emotional, pissed, flinging shit, pointing fingers, whatever. This is like when your team's star athlete retires out of nowhere and no one has answers to any questions, just "well it was probablys" and "it might have beens," but we don't know, and we won't know unless Kson spills the beans, which she won't anytime soon. Maybe years from now long after we've all stopped giving a shit.

A graduation this momentous is a new thing for any Hololive fan; no one has ever seen this happen before, so everyone is on edge and digging for clues to answers for anything. But, life will go on, and she's not falling off the planet anyway. Kson has now gotten over 200k more subs in the past 24hrs, wild.

This speaks to me.
I only recently joined the hype-train in the middle oh September 2020 which was when the Taiwan incident happened.
Prior to this the only other vtuber that I really knew about or interactedwith was AI and I fell off of the train after a while.
So yeah this was essentially the first huge graduation that I've seen to this degree and seemingly after things were finally starting to look up.
The Dragon started me down a rabbit hole that by the end of 2020 leas me do this place.
I'm grateful for all the hard work she's done but I'm also somewhat afraid that this could result in a string of graduations just due to the drop in morale for everybody.
Like Korone bounces shortly after Coco that's a TKO to a lot of covers Western momentum

Well that was oddly appropriate considering everything, though I was wrong in that Cover managed to keep the news under wraps until Coco finally sprung the announcement. If you can believe this was really related to Coco telling everyone in private beforehand, then I am confident that the other girls will continue their best to keep the show going.
