General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Well I used to be, but the the reason I bring it up is how shockingly similar the situation seemed to be.
You have a zany talent that pushes the envelope that constantly got chastised by the higher-ups until said person decides to leave after all the BS.
And the unfortunate truth is that coco may not be the only one to leave after this debacle is said and done.
Korone and Marine have both been expressing some negative thoughts lately.
Just don't compare anything to Breaking Bad and we gucci.

It probably be best to roll out that second generation announcement before July 1st.
That's going to be too obvious and rub a lot of fan the wrong way by a lot. At least wait until the next day. Or better yet, have Coco give the EN2 a plug in her last live. It would be a nice form of baton pass, and we otaku just love that stuff.

I was hoping for this scenario as well. It would be poetic for Coco, the one who pushed for EN's creation to be the one who introduced EN's new gen. It also would give the new gen at least a chance to collab with her

I am not an avid watcher of Coco but I'm pretty sure Coco's content has become sanitized compared to last year. Like when was the last time she performed her monthly vag burning? During 1mil celebration stream? And she frequently streams Nintendo games like her peers ever since Kanatan gifted her Switch. This is probably one of the things that stressed her into leaving, her character content has become stale compared what she did last year. She is no longer doing her Coco content, she is doing Hololive content.

About sponsorship and merch, kson would probably get it if she shills like any other streamers if she really wants to continue as full-time indie instead of hobby streamer like before.

And I'm pretty sure Coco hasn't gotten any sponsorship since the Taiwan debacle. No WoWS shilling streams with KanaFox iirc other than Moona shilling Warships and Tanks.

Coco plugging the next generation of EN would be wonderful since it's thanks to her why it happened in the first place

As hard as it is to believe it may be a decent while before we see another graduation since according to the translate clips Coco how to plan for a good while now.
So for one something like this hit us all hard at the same time.

Coco has a super special announcement
WHAT!?
SHES GRADUATING!?

So after reading a lot of this Thread since this post was made, and watching quite a bunch of Video's of other holomem, I'm pretty sure this was her own decision, but I think it was just a culmination of a lot of things bunching up to the point that she decided it's better to move on instead of keeping going.

The main reasons I see are:
- Cover putting more and more restrictions on the Content, adhering to YouTube's "Family Friendly" Values and thereby killing a lot of creativity
- Anti's going onto other holomems Streams, especially from those that collabed with her, even if there is way less spamming, it propably added to her decision
- Her realizing that this isn't something she wants to do for the rest of her life, and wanting to find another carreer path

I don't think it's because Cover threw her under the bus, but they really didn't do much when the whole Taiwan thing started, which is still a dick move to a Talent you owe very much to, also she confirmed that she wouldn't be a taboo to speak of even after she leaves.
I don't think it's because her Grandma(?) is sick/has dementia, she pretty much confirmed that she'll be living with Kanata and Suisei for the time being, and I think none of them would've said anything in that regard if she was planning to go back to the States.
I also don't think it's because of chinese Investor's, not only would the Fans go Riot, propably most other holomem would too, opening up to the chinese Market after all that happened isn't something they can "just do".

In the End, it's still her decision, a few Holomem said they tried to talk her out of it and she still wanted to leave, the best thing to do is honor her Legacy and support her in things she wants to do in the Future, and propably be prepared that others might follow.
I saw some people mentioned Haachama, which I kind of agree with, she has been part of HL for quite a while being Gen 1 and those afforementioned restrictions also really hurt her a lot, if I remember correctly some of her streams where she reviewed Lewd Art were deleted.

After a day I don't think it's family problems and more so that Coco just simply realized she is too much of an innovator to be shackled down by Cover. She's in her 30s with more skill and vision than the people telling her what to do. Simply put she wants to become her own boss.

I think this is going to have a domino effect on the talents who are on the older side. Sure they are entertainers but they are also girls I'm sure at least half of them want to date, start families, etc. and with japanese men being as autistic as they are it will only get harder the older they get.

I'm gonna make a "bold" assumption here and say that most of you don't have experience with women in their early 30s. Well I have and it's no secret that they (or at least 80%) constantly have one thought in their back of their heads: kids, family, settling down.
Unlike us men that can still shoot sperm till we're a wrinkled package, women are naturally made to be fertile until a certain age and this physically and mentally points them towards these decisions.

Also, I making this very easy to understand since some of you are literal dumbfucks: I still read posts where people are guessing whether the other holomem knew about Cocos graduation beforehand even after Coco herself said she had told all of them.

I'm not saying this is the reason but I can bet a fifty it is one of the reasons. And that's one of the few confirmed pieces of truth we have. Coco said it in the announcement: it's many reasons. I believe that 100%.

Other reasons might have had more weight but this one has its own weight as well. It's hard to date as a talent, and impossible to start a family.

I believe Coco took a long time to make this decision and probably put the whole thing in a table with the positives and negatives of quitting. It'd be an interesting idea to emulate this table, maybe if I have enough free time I will, or some spergo here.

God damn why YOU of all people? I knew this was gonna happen eventually but it hit just as hard, and I'm not even a big fan, I just admire her greatly. Now I don't even wanna think how real OG Tatsunoko are feeling, honestly poor motherfuckers.
Coco is a pillar of not just hololive but the whole industry. What a loss... It took me literally one and a half days to digest it.

In any case, I'm sure Coco will be fine whatever she chooses to do and maybe one day she'll give us closure on the whole thing.

But until then.. here's my personal rrat:
Four months have passed after Cocos graduation, things were getting back to normal but out of nowhere, Marine, Aki and Kanata announce their graduation by the end of the year. All of the fans are big sad but in the year end Sports Festival Fubuki cheerfully waves goodbye saying "see you on the other side".
1st of January 2022: Big announcement, a new JP Vtuber agency releases a promo video that shows their first generation of talent. It goes insanely viral, the reason: We hear 3 very familiar voices in their cheerful new avatars. Although.. none of them is Coco's.
On their debut all 3 "new" talent mention they are ready to embark on a crazy new adventure with their very helpful manager "Yuujin - K" who will make guest appearances from time to time.

End.
