It’s really really dumb. Yes, sexual violence such as castration and shoving objects into the anus would often happen as part of a lynching, but it wasn’t for sexual gratification of anyone involved, it was to violate the corpse and further “punish” the victim. The point was to show the power of those doing the lynching. It wasn’t to somehow get their rocks off.
