I feel like it must be pretty bad for straight “butch” women as well. Not only because of the constant pressure to conform to plastic modern ideals of femininity, but also because I would wager it’s harder to find literally any place for them to feel a sense of community or kinship that isn’t crawling with troons or radical feminists. I’ve seen at least a few butch lesbian Reddits/forums/etc, and they already have some sense of community because they’re united by proxy under the L in , LGBT (even if they’re still ostracized in that group, which is really sad). But where the fuck do you go if you’re a straight female who just happens to embrace a very masculine aesthetic/lifestyle? You never see women much older than 18-19 consistently refer to themselves as tomboys, nor have I ever seen a space for them to find other masc women to commiserate with. It’s a lonely experience, and just like you said, it must be a damn tempting draw to just drink the trans kool-aid and gain immediate access to an ever-widening community who’ll not only welcome you, but constantly validate your thoughts and feelings to a downright manipulative degree.
