The funniest part about DSP's immortality/luck meme isn't that many detractors believe in it, it's that he has bought into it himself. In the face of all the times he's been "treated like a piece of shit" as he claims, mind you.

Funny how he had no problems hopping on VF, a series which is known as the most complex 3D fighting game series as well as one of the most complex fighting games in general. But here's the rub, VF is free on PS+ so there's no cost in playing it for a few days and then abandoning it if you don't like it, making it guaranteed that he'd go up against mostly drooling 62 IQ noobs who can't even block low. GG Strive on the other hand is a paid game, so he'll have to face a self-selected group of fans of the series, meaning that he won't be able to stroke his ego by dunking on scrubs, he'd actually have to go up against people who care about learning the game.


What is he trying to accomplish? Is he just high off his own farts or is he trying to bait detractors into talking shit to him about it so he can use it on his Two Minutes of Hate on the next stream in order to goad his paypigs into giving him money to "own da trollz"?

What retards is Phil talking to that GG Strive is "as complicated as GG has ever been"? GG Strive is probably easier to pick up and learn than DBFZ, it's painfully watered down Guilty Gear and it has really good tutorials. If anything if you ask hardcore GG players what their least favorite thing about the game is they'll most likely tell you how simplified and slowed down it is compared to previous GG games.

I swear he just pulled it out of his ass and he's doing his usual DSP thing where he wants to believe something so he ignores the 100 people telling him one thing and goes with the one guy whose opinion aligns with his better. We all know the reality, which is that he's scared of getting shit on and even his most braindead fans would be able to tell he's bullshitting when he whines and blames lag because of the netcode on Strive. I played for 10 hours and didn't experience a single laggy match, even matches with 200ms ping to the opponent feel smooth, it's like fucking witchcraft on ASW's part how good the netcode in the game is.

So, how many hours exactly did Phil invest in Street Fighter to get "good" as we see today? Either Phil is lazy (which is correct), or as @Pretty Boy Extremism pointed out, a giant wuss who doesn't want his glass ego to be smashed into powder (also correct). Really, this is all coming back to the common themes: Phil is lazy and cheap, and so he looks for a way out (that crappy PS1 port of SSF2T that he exploited, VF5 being free). Even now, he refuses to do most newer fighting games because he can't exploit holes. He is knowingly running away from the hard work and sacrifice to reap the real rewards.

Clout-chasing. Max is highly respected in the FGC, and Phil (incorrectly) thinks he can use him to prop himself up.
