It's probably that he's so fat already that it obscures the telltale signs of someone on prednisone, which is moonface, aka "steroid face". :\

And it's true that prednisone can cause quite a bit of irritability and mood swings, which could also account for some of his behavior... So you might not be getting the person, but the side effects of the medication.

It makes perfect sense because of what he already has in way of diseases. He stated already he had severe breathing issues, so I am assuming he`s taking prednisone. At least, as an attempt to calm the inflammation while he's trying to lose weight. (Depends on the condition. Prednisone CAN make you gain, but if you have a disease that's active that causes weight loss, you still might lose weight.)

Medication tends to cause diarrhea. His diet also effects it, but again, medication causes diarrhea as a side effect.

Most medications do have diarrhea as a side effect, no matter the freaking reason for making the drug. (Why the hell does IBD medication have this side effect if that's the problem in the first place??? )
