This is also compounded by the fact that V-tubing is just catching on with an English audience so this entire event carries just an extra punch then usual.

Look at her now. From someone who was told she "leech off" Coco, to a proud owner of SC leader board. She's truly Coco partner in crime. People are starting to visioning Kanata as the next "leader" of the 4th gen too, which I found very fitting. She do struggle a lot and innovate on a lot of thing. She have that mental strength need to withstand life hardship, while also kind and understanding of others woe. It maybe bit rude to think she'll be a replacement, but Coco's shoe is a big one to fill, and I think she suit it the most. Sorry for being a bit sappy. I can't see someone that can't speak English being able to do the shitpost reviews, since most of the material comes from reddit. Unless Kanata partners up with someone from EN, shitpost reviews are probably over, since anyone else trying to do them would be seen as "fucking over" Kanata who already mentioned it.

Not to mention they also get a base pay from Hololive, on top of SC cuts, YT Memberships, merch revenues (though they do have to invest on those ones) and ad partnerships (Botan and Aqua Red Bull sponsorship). Also while Tokyo can be expensive, it could very well be that they live in the outskirts of Tokyo and from what I heard, cost of living isn't so bad outside of Tokyo. Heck, even within Tokyo it's not as bad compared to LA or Vancouver.
I'm sure those soures of income are all taxed to high heaven. Both by HL's cut and by the government. Still, let's go with an exagerated 100K more? That's around 350K for Kanata. That'll buy you the shitiest of flats in the outskirts of major cities (probably not even that). And we haven't considered living costs each month to deduct from that or how much they help their families.
