Yeah but Virtua Beggar is free meaning that it's gonna be full of scrubs who can't handle one string so he can dunk on them and feel like a Shun Di master that makes Fuudo look like a scrub.

Speaking of, he's playing Virtua Beggar today. He said he's gonna continue playing Shun. As such, I don't need to update my streamsniping guide much. He only ever does one move, 1PK. It's a special low elbow into a low sweep, meaning you can block the first hit both low and high and the second only low. Just know to react when you block his elbow or just block low to begin with. It's also a high crushing move so make sure to use highs sparingly, use a quick mid like the generic elbow instead because Shun's 1PK's kinda slow so it'll get stuffed. When you guard the sweep it's launch punishable. When he goes into a stance just run up and do the generic crouching low kick (1K) or use footsies to bait him to whiff (important to note, forward dashes in VF can be guard cancelled while backdashes cannot). Finally the only throw he seems to do is the neutral throw, so do a Lazy Throw Escape against neutral throws.
I hope he finally gets into some ranks where people know how to play.
The last time was boring af.

Phil: "Okay, I have two options. I can either pretend that Strive doesn't exist, which is cowardly but doesn't give so much for detractors to talk about, or I can try and clout-chase by citing Max Dood and talking about how the game is too complicated for me to invest time in, even though I've been deliberately filling my time with shit like New Vegas and Mass Effect, and just dropped Divinity after dodging it for a year. Also, I'll be leaving myself wide open for heavy criticism because the very platform I'm using to stream on now is full of footage of Strive, including that of Max Dood, that most people are watching. Hmm..."

What an incompetent neanderthal...

He'll just fall back to different excuses anyway.
Yesterday someone sent him a tip or something and said "Please reconsider skipping Strive, it's way easier than you have been led to believe" and he did his epic dramatic zoom-in stroke face and went NO! I DON'T HAVE TIME WITH VF5 AND STREET FIGHTER!

Poor Phil...

Phil will pretend that he doesnt care or even finds it funny himself but this is the shit that kills him. To know that no matter what after being a "content creator" for well over ten years the only thing he will ever be remembered for by the general gaming public (if they even know him) is that he jacked off on stream.

It proves my theory on instant gratification. DSP’s life has been so sheltered that he needs to be instantly rewarded whenever he does the minute. I can already see how he probably drove to his parents house with Super Turbo and the PlayStation just to show them he knew how to do a Hadoken, or a Super. And he parents said WOW THATS AMAZING and gave him either money because he said he needed it for food or gas. Which they did saying Wow Philip you’re getting ready good at the game. And he’d say he’s a pro at Super Turbo.

It’s also in his streams, whenever he wins a round he immediately checks for tips and when that’s not there he checks how his dwindling chat responds to find out they aren’t even talking about the game or which is why he gets butthurt.

There are dozens of accessibility-related charities (though not necessarily game-focused but that shouldn’t matter because people with physical disabilities have difficulties outside of beep-boops) which he could raise money for if he actually gave a shit about such things outside of getting dopamine hits on Twitter.

Phil doesn’t have any spare money to put where his mouth is. It’s all already spoken for.
There's really no excuse given how piss easy it is to do a charity stream on YT. TLDR: You pick a charity from a dropdown menu and your SuperChat button turns into a donation button. 100% of donations (no 30% YT cut) go to the charity. If he didn't want to deal with having to cut a check to charity and claiming that on his taxes he could disable tipping for the stream.

EDIT: You don't have to treat donations given to you on behalf of a charity as income (assuming you turn them over to the charity).

EDIT2: For all you poo touchers out there, asking Phil about the Youtube Giving Fundraiser feature would make a nice bait.

It's actually even more telling when he does that shit, because it's always out of irritation at being directed to do something, or some question that he finds it painful to answer. Like when someone asked about Katherine talking about him to their neighbors, or whether he thought he would ever have friends again.

Reeeeally should've just pretended that Strive doesn't exist. He really should have. Claiming to not have time doesn't work, even the retards notice that his time isn't that valuable when he occupies it with old games that no one asked him to play, not to mention who prefers Virtua Fighter 5 over Guilty Gear Strive? We all knew he was going to dodge the latter, because he's afraid, but why draw MORE attention to it by both running his mouth AND taking on a new fighting game? That isn't NEARLY the talk of the town as Strive is? And then doing THAT?

Phil does not think. Ever.

That would also work because Phil has been stressing his fans to “stop Superchatting” the literal second he started streaming on Youtube. That way he really could stress that tips (and the instant gratification he craves so much) are the only way he makes money. His whales will continue to drop huge donations to him, that’s how they get attention, while truly giving the finger to trolls at the same time.
But no. Every last dollar on Phil’s streams go to Phil, he’ll make you sit through a skateboarding game with no music so he can pinch every last penny. He’ll downplay the profit he makes from Superchat but he’ll still take them.

Does anyone know how charity streams are treated by the IRS for streamers? Surely the streamer can't claim the total raised from the stream since the people actually donating can claim their amounts and the same donation can't be claimed twice. Or can it? What deduction can a streamer take for holding a charity stream?

I was mistaken about the taxes part.

Donations via YouTube go straight to the charity which is why it's so convenient/easy to do.

If someone gives you money on behalf of a charity it is considered a gift so you don't have to report it as income. So no, you wouldn't deduct it as a charitable donation for yourself when you turn the proceeds of the fundraiser over to the charity.

If DSP were to host a charity stream (lol) he should disable tips to make things easy for himself. It doesn't look good to have charitable donations flow into a personal account should he ever be audited by the IRS (although this would be the least of his worries if they ever decided to look into his finances). Best practice is to open up a separate account to keep the accounting easy.

i don't really care if it's true or not. i just find an account with 5 posts linking to a reddit thread made by absolutely nobody, and acting like that's some bombshell truth drop to be funny.
I don't think it matters even. I think it is somewhat relevant to his character however. He is against neghole pozzing, yet behind the scenes goes the extra mile himself. I'm in general against these small detractor groups that always, always, gatekeep. They come out of the blue mate, and they oddly all stream. They want you to "detract" in a certain way, while they do whatever they want behind the scenes.
It's cringy and stupid. No one really cares what you do as long as it's funny.

there is a reason i have been following phil for almost 12 years and have not once given any attention or care to detractor groups, SoK, fred fuchs, tjgamer whoever this new poet guy is, an1337. don't care and I'm pretty damn sure I'm better off for it.

from what i've seen any "serious detractor" is just another retard hoping to get fame off the bigger fatter retard. they are not worth my attention.
