Honestly, I think she had something like a moment of clarity. Of course, since it's Chantal it was less an epiphany and more an uncomfortable, thought-like feeling that came close to self-reflection but veered away at the last moment. What is it, do you think, that brought on this "chase down a man" phase from Chantal? Did she have some kind of crisis recently outside be a fatass too lazy to do anything about her living condition? I kind of ignored her for awhile, and then all of a sudden she's spewing crazy like that volcano in Iceland started spewing lava.
I think she just admitted to herself that she isn't happy being single and she thinks she can do better than Peetz. She'll never understand how much she's driven to pursue male approval -- let alone analyze why that might be -- but the brainfog lifted just enough for her to realize she's lonely and Peetz disgusts her as a potential partner.
It's not more complicated than that. A lot of people seemed to think it was because Bibi was moving on or her sister got engaged or something, and while I don't think that's unreasonable -- she is a narcissistic, insecure, jealous beast after all -- I don't think it's more complex than that she wants someone in her life.
Unfortunately, she's desperate, hideous, and insane and has all the street smarts of my poor dead pet newt (RIP Monty). So instead of happily ever after, she's allowing herself to be used and abused by the lowest of the low, and also developing quite the taste for the ol'Bolivian marching powder. I'd be lying if I said I saw that second part coming, though the abuse thing is pretty predictable. She's not going to find her knight in shining armor on Tinder, or anywhere for that matter. She's not a fixer-upper so much as totally condemned.
