Philosophy Tube / Oliver Lennard / Oliver "Olly" Thorn / Abigail Thorn - Breadtube's Patrick Bateman.

Christ, I totally forgot about gamergate. It's already somewhat "nostalgic" to me because it seems so long ago. But as you've said, gamergate might really be one of the first instances where an online "movement/ideology" spilled over into real life. And it probably didn't stop there. Around 2016 I was probably one of the first person who heard about Jordan Peterson in my country after this incident at his university. Never would I've thought that he'll write a book that becomes a bestseller around the world and that my ex-friends (They literally excommunicated me because I said modern feminism is elitist) will actually talk about him in real life some years later. For some time I really tried to ignore this insanity and told myself that it won't get as bad in my country as in the USA. But now this just seems naive and I should have known better.

One could even argue that Ollie's troon out is at the end a result of gamergate. Some idea of a timeline:

Gamergame starts => People like Sargon of Akkad and Jim become quite known in this community => Gamergate becomes the broader anti-SJW online community => There is a crosspolination of different ideologies over time. Some people who started as fat neckbeards who started ranting about video games suddenly thought that they had to save the white race => Sagon of Akkad and other prominent figures of gamergate or the anti-SJW weren't cutting it anymore. People have in general become more radicalized and don't identify with the "vision" of soft liberalism like Sargon anymore => Begin of internet bloodsports with Jean-François Gariépy and Andy Warski as the retarded royal family ruling about their newly conquered land on the internet => Internet bloodsports imploded => Many people who started in gamergate, became anti-SJWs and at the end internet whignats might have become shocked how far they were radicalized in an online movement. This is the time when many left-wing/SJW channels had the opportunity to actually grow and many channels like Shaun and Jen, Hbomberguy and our favourite tranny of today, Hontrapoints, were able to grow their channels. This was the begin of the decline of anti-SJW YouTube that was so big after Trump's victory. I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't all organic and some organizations actually helped to grow those channels. Anyway, over the years we saw the creation of many new BreadTube channels (like Vaush and Xanderhal) and many anti-SJWs who turned into SJWs themselves or became more sympathetic to them ("Hanna" and Jake, The Amazing Atheist, Shoeonhead, Theryn and now even brain dead Hunter Avallone) => Ollie also jumped on the band wagon and was able to grow his channel as well. He came into contact with ContraPoints and due to his sick narcissism and weird fetisihization of Contra he started to mould his content and "aesthetics" more and more to fit Nyk's content => Ollie internalized his fetishization of Contra so much during the WuFlu pandemic that he actually thinks now that he's somehow Contra and a tranny as well.

I think its way simpler but I'll use a simple analogy since GG is too complicated to cover (as your paragraphs show)

If you raise one group up with an intrinsic value you cant change (gender, race) then the other groups who previously didn't value such things (gender blind, colour blind) start to notice things (insert stop noticing goy joke here). When its in a group that's part of the 'wrong' group (white, male) then its not allowed.

You can see the group consciousness being raised like this in recent race relations in the US (black nationalism on the rise, white nationalism rising following) and Turkey (increase in Turkish nationalism has spurred an increase in Serb, Greek, Armenian and Kurd nationalism). You can see the right and wrong group in the US race relations as well (Black nationalism good, white nationalism bad)

What made GG so weird was it was a group of people who were (mostly) completely politically apathetic, disengaged from society and largely disinterested in it. After all, its (mostly) white dudes who just wanna game. Almost the grilling centrist meme to a T. Maybe they saw it as an easy target? All I know is they thought they were flogging a dead horse (white male) and instead kicked a hornets nest.

EDIT: Post above me goes into way more detail thats better than this, but as a general guide i think this is ok

Olly livestreamed today and I haven't watched through all of it yet, but a highlight was when someone asked him: "do you check out negative or toxic spaces like kiwifarms to see how you are percieved by the kind of people you critique?"

He vehemently denied at all reading on here, then immediate tries to discredit KF by saying that he read his friend's threads ("...years ago") and that every time he was mentioned they got everything about him wrong. He protests a bit too much, and he's not a good actor. That and I don't believe that he would have taken down the knickers tweet unless he read on here and/or on /tttt/. After denying going on KF he redirects by bringing up transphobia in his comments section.

(The stream is broken into two parts since it crashed, this is the second part)
jesus christ. thats some appalling 'acting work'/lying, there. say what you want about contra but she admits to reading everythng written about her, and seeking it out...the masochistic way most people would, tbh.
There's not a chance in hell this narcisist hasnt got every page like this in an open tab non stop.

Really is a crap actor though, as well a comedian who isnt funny, and a troon who aint even a troon

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but an actual philosophy professor rips into this ugly troon
I've just been able to watch it. Next to the fact the professor is indeed very calm and nice to listen to, he is indeed quite agreeable. That said, even though he brings it all in such a way, what he's saying is so scathing. I dare say him bringing it in such a docile manner makes it even more of a burn. 😂😅

Paris Lees is a dickhead but he is legitimately working class and grew up marginalised and disenfranchised. He was selling himself as rent boy in his teens and the man he assaulted was supposedly a John, who Paris and a mate were trying to ‘clip’ (ie take the money up front and then do a runner leaving the John blue balled).
I imagine that Paris, who left borstal, went to uni and managed to achieve some level of mainstream success without the privileges and old boys networks of Olly’s world would be pretty fucking insulted by Olly’s ‘sex work is work’ bullshit. Still not a woman tho!

This ^ is what happens when a HSTS and an AGP cross paths. Someone should tweet that interview at Blanchard. It’s beautifully textbook

edited to add: I posted about April Ashley upthread, who cultivated a posh, eccentric female persona (with the retro bbc accent Olly desperately wants) April Ashley was born into poverty in 1930s Liverpool and at the age of 16!briefly joined the Navy and got dishonourably discharged and sent to a psychiatric unit, started performing in drag in his late teens and transitioned in his early 20s.

it strikes me as weirdly poetic that Lees is more or less the current day equivalent of April Ashley, yet it’s Olly who desperately wishes to be.
Paris Lees' mother is a senior project manager at a pharmaceutical company. A grammar school girl that got knocked up at age 16 by a nightclub bouncer.

Lees likes to make capital of his "working class" roots but it's all just a lie.

Abighoul appears in this twitch stream, costarring that white Dude who is both trans and a “Muslim.” He needs a thread of his own.

Abighoul is wearing glasses and kind of puts me in mind of Theryn as far as his dress and glasses. Perhaps he’s trying to look as much like Theryn as possible to catch Contra’s eye. Don’t forget Olly already wore the blue contact lenses, now the glasses, now the summer Theryn-esque dress. 🤔

Huh. That's the first time I've watched AliceAvizandum on stream. Weird look. He's wearing his hijab over a short-sleeved t-shirt, leaving his bright white arms exposed. I've never seen that much arm on a hijabi woman before. If they wear t-shirts at all, they typically layer a fitted undershirt with enough sleeve to cover the elbows underneath.

Far be it from me to pearl-clutch over a little arm, but if you commit to hijab, modesty is kind of the point. What do you get out of covering your head if you can't be assed to cover anything else? Muslim points on Twitter? Surely only with woke white libs. Anyone with a shred of respect for hijab would side-eye this guy for claiming its most obvious visual signifier — the headscarf — while giving not a single fuck about the less glamorous commitments that come in tow.

Alice has put about as much effort into his conversion of faith as his gender transition.

Search bar turns up a few tussles with Muslims regarding his flippancy toward hijab:

But even the people ripping into his hollow-ass religious practice are too polite to address him as anything other than ma'am.

The hijab is dehumanising and backwards in its origin and purpose and should not be afforded special respect. I have no respect for it bar not policing women's dress in public. And this disgusting coomer is already making a mockery of women, so why is Islam off limits to these Twitter wokes? Let the tard LARP in peace if you can't criticise both.

It's the same deal as those white men who identify as women of color (Gwen Benaway, Ja Du, Claire Coleman). Ripped to shreds for faking their race, but god forbid you question their pronouns. To any normal person it should be clear that both claims flow from the same well of disingenuous nonsense, but on Twitter, you can only call out one stream of fakery without catching a ban.

The funniest bit about this one is that religion, unlike ethnicity and sex, is something you can actually change. The core of it is inside your head. A Christian can literally believe himself into a Muslim. Obviously Alice isn't believing as sincerely as his critics would like, but the path is there; it's theoretically possible.

So of course they skewer him for doing the theoretically possible conversion wrong while nodding along with his claim that he believed his whole male body into a female one.

To be fair, he mentioned during his livestream that he despised doing comedy. Oddly enough the only time I've found him likeable was when I was watching his comedy routine (the second one, I haven't gotten around to watching the first). Probably because, as others mentioned, he was ripping off someone else's work.

Full context:
He said that during his second year of University he sat down and tried to figure out what he wanted to do with his life. What he did was he asked himself how he would feel if he could never do a certain thing again. He said it would suck if he couldn't study Philosophy anymore, but it wouldn't devastate him. He would be quite happy to never do comedy again because he hated it. But he would be devastated if he could never act again, so he decided to 'become an actress'.

He said he also applied this to his 'gender', sitting down and asking himself: 'how would I feel if someone said I could never transition'? He said he would be gutted, and that's what motivated him to transition. It's been a while since I watched Contra's video on his decision to troon out but iirc that's similar to what Contra said about his decision to transition, where he asked himself how he would feel if he didn't transition and instead aged like a man.

Tell me if I’m wrong here, but aren’t modesty choices in the Abrahamic religions not just about avoiding unwanted sexual attention but also about humility? Like avoiding vanity in favor of prioritizing spiritual life (according to the faiths)? I know humility is a big deal in Christianity, and I’d imagine there’s similar doctrine in Islam and Judaism.

I can’t imagine anything further from humble than spouting off about one’s sexual proclivities online. In Christian circles at least, that’d be way more of a big deal than how you chose to dress. Generally speaking, choosing to dress modestly without actually committing to it spiritually is very frowned upon. Modest dress is a signifier of one’s commitment to their faith (avoiding the debate of whether or not it’s dehumanizing for the purposes of this post) so signaling to the world you’re religious without doing the work to publicly honor your faith in your worldly life is borderline insulting.

Yo yo yo it’s Abighoul! Nothing says ghetto slay kween so much as a pasty white British Lurch in a dress.

Imma be honest, British people using American slang is the cringiest shit.

You know how obnoxious it is when non-brits do super fake accents and talk about tea and fish and chips? It's like that.

At least when the Japanese try to do American slang, it comes off as partially endearing.

At least he didn't say "y'all". Brits saying "y'all" is like Americans saying "bloody". Just don't.

Has y'all made it across the pond? I hear it used by fools around me so often and online that I instinctively cringe every time I read it. 9/10 it's some middle class commie trying to sound like some aw shucks salt of the earth type. I have a lot of Canadian friends that say bloody but it doesn't bug me nearly as much.

I've certainly seen Brits using words like y'all and folks(x) on woke twitter; can't say that they try to use it in real life. But I have heard Americans use bloody and it is cringe every single time. Never heard it from a Canadian, but I'd probably still roll my eyes at it if I did.

Jordan Peterson says bloody a lot. It's pretty funny.
