In fact the act of transitioning itself is often a way to 'make it about them.' Look at how many AGPs transition right after their partner falls pregnant or has a baby. It's so they can push their rhetoric more and pull more young teens (often autistic and female, groups which both often struggle with body and identity issues) into their group. They shout over de-transitioners to give the illusion that barely anyone de-transitions or regrets transitioning, and are overall very cold to anyone who leaves or challenges their ideas. They talk about "conservatives and TERFS" denying science, even though they are the most disconnected from biology, science, facts, and just reality in general. It's all to create an echo chamber that makes it easier to pull in more people.
