Armond White is a leftist, but he is pretty based. He has a solid set of contrarian beliefs, and he sticks with them, no matter what. If you look at his reviews, you can see he likes human warmth and populist moviemakers like Spielberg and Eddie Murphy, and dislikes movies rooted in cynicism and misanthropy, exemplified by the likes of Tarantino (although he notably gave praise to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood). He is the only big movie reviewer today who has been consistently willing to march against public opinion, no matter what it takes. He sees through the race hustle. I don't always agree with him, but he is a principled guy, interesting to read, and he has a good nose for bullshit.

If you look at what happened with the immigrants who showed up in the US around WWII and before, there was a lot of focus on integration and a lot of people were still hung up on blanqueamiento so children were encouraged to marry white so their children had a better chance of "blending in".

It is absolutely wild that the anti-racist are now tearing down actual minorities who have made waves in their industry well before anyone just because they wanna appease whatever random darkie they see.
The issue with Marxism is that it largely focuses on class before all else and the moment of minority actually makes it in life they are now considered the enemy because they're no longer poor and miserable moreover they go against their agenda.

Sad. The Book of Mormon was pretty interesting because it really comes across like Matt and Trey started out planning on a vicious parody of Mormons, then actually came to sympathize with them to some extent, and the actual end product was pretty sympathetic to Mormons while still being critical of the theology.

It was so sympathetic that even the LDS church itself couldn't really do their usual act of completely freaking out when criticized, perhaps realizing the treatment was actually pretty sympathetic.

I've noticed the irony that the more the cult of woke tries to shove woke into everything, the less tolerant people can get of LGBTQ people and ethnic diversity, because they're sick of endless preaching.

Which of course could be by design: to try to keep the "little people" even more divided and conquered.
