I've always liked going straight for the broken nose approach. Tears, snot and blood within seconds and fight or flight kicks in. It doesn't always work but it's worth it just to shut some tosser up. Embarrassing in front of your mates and sexy ladies on a Saturday night.
I no longer work doors and I was very professional.

Jab to the face, then just hail mary hook to the chin for a knockout. If you're not a professional fighter you're not going to re-enact the moves you saw on UFC while you were slamming beers last night. Just hit them in the nose/jaw with the least amount of windup and save yourself embarrassment.
