A couple of years ago, my company’s marketing unit went all-in on THIS is our brand, THESE are our only approved branding colors, THIS is the one slide background with appropriate branding that everyone will use, etc. At the time I thought it was restrictive; now I’m wondering if they were actually trying to head off crap like this.

For the other makeup autists on this board who noted Colourpop isn’t doing the rainbow bullshit, neither are e.l.f., Wet ‘n Wild, or NYX, at least according to their splash pages (e.l.f. has a single instagram pride story, and NYX calls itself “proud artistry for all” with no rainbows). Hmmm, it’s almost like big conglomerates or spendthrift major corporations are the only ones willing to rush headlong into mindless consumerism with this..
