Interesting. The judge based his opinion on the fact that you can't lock future elected boards into a specific budget plan. Have personally seen this play out in small council board meetings: you can't really pass anything as a board or as a voter referendum that prohibits future money from being spent or demanding it be spent. You just don't have that authority. If you try, the lawyers will come in and say, "Well, no, all you can do is pass a resolution saying you'd REALLY LIKE IT if future boards did this."

I truly don't believe these individuals are genuinely malicious at all. I believe they really want to do good and are very empathetic, but I find their lack of understanding of Irish dynamics and history highly irritating. A lot of Africans have only come recently and a lot of them just don't understand that much of the racism in Ireland comes from ignorance rather than some "white supremacist systemic" thing or whatever it is. It's also very funny to see the different attitudes Irish people from the Republic and Northern Ireland have on Twitter. The Irish from the North are highly sceptical of critical race theory as many of them are old enough to remember the Troubles and the Civil Rights Movement in Northern Ireland from the 60s.
