The dude who's being attacked did the 5 nights at freddy's games. It was leaked he donated some coin to the GOP and to Trump as well so he was attacked because how dare anyone have a difference of opinion.

Guy is expecting a baby and people were harassing him over donations. He's doing well for himself; obviously, he doesn't have time or energy to be around that negativity. He said his peace and wants to move on with his life. What's wrong with that? If those people consider that a "victory," well I hope they got what they wanted.

In fairness, Scott isn’t exactly an up-and-coming dev or a one-man-team. FNAF is a multimedia franchise, and he likely has reached the “f-you money” phase like Notch now that his private donations have been revealed. After all, his retirement announcement amounted to him saying he was proud of what he had created, he had no regrets, and is ready to enjoy a quiet and comfortable life with his family. In the end, Scott Cawthon beat the cancel mob by calling them out and riding off into the sunset.

Prior to FNAF he did some religious edu-tainment type games.

Basically a bunch of people who jerk off to the animatronic animals in FNAF are mad that the guy who created them isn't a screaming lefty.

People complained his early, unskilled efforts of making CGI-characters were unsettling and creepy. Rather than get discouraged or shriek about feelings, he instead leaned into it and used them to make a creepy horror game.

It was a political cudgel. All the major networks were calling it the Wuhan Flu for the first month. The second Trump joked about it, they used it as an angle of attacked and denied/scrubbed their own references to it. Even now with the evidence mounting against them, they have to commit to the lie. They'll come clean when they find a public figure to dump all the blame on, which is looking like it's gonna be Fauci. He's probably gonna be like that Jewish chicken thing where the media unloads all their sin into him then beats him to death.
