So The best thing they've learned about gaming is it was better 10 years ago! On June 23,2021 they are re-releasing a game that came out in 2009. Aion. Otherwise known as 'That MMO with wings'.
Reminds me of this ad that made me go 'lol dead game' but im looking forward to the bringing back of a game that had an enjoyable leveling -> PvP experience that actually rewarded you for cross-faction killing/attacking.
The game is 'free to play' but without the subscription you will be severely limited. The first week is free if youre interested though! I suggest it if you enjoy online PVP games like WoW when it released or even things like ArcheAge although Aion is not as obnoxious nor cookie cutter. The best part of Aion is every class (Minus the new classes of Technist/Muse which aren't included) can successfully outplay other classes. Yes this game, at launch, actually had 'balanced pvp'. Mages(Sorcerer/Spiritmaster) deal crazy damage along with the Rogue(Ranger/Assassin). Warriors (Gladiator/Templar) provide a frontline with Healers (Chanter/Cleric) giving sustain to all.
Overall the reason to play? You get wings bro. No seriously its pretty sweet to just be able to pop out your wings and fly around. You get 'Basic Gliding' in zones but then there are 'Free Flight' zones where you are given a flight meter based on your level of wings. Inside these zones are also 'wind streams' which are basically fast travel through the zones.
You can also make your character really tiny.
