Plagued Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

This girl and the others in the extras perfectly showcase the difference between associating your identity with something and becoming overtly obsessed with it. They could just have a few things relating to their 'hobby', but instead make their entire rooms dedicated to nonsense they've probably barely read and plastering everything with popular nonsense. The first girl is about the worst of it here, especially with their obvious obsessive need to justify it to themselves. The "fake gamer girl" video, which I'm sure barely anybody even said to her, has her trying to justify her purchase of a massive gaming desktop by showing... what I assume is the 'game' Dream Daddy, a visual novel that you could run on a potato, and dead by daylight, which while I'm sure is unoptimized doesn't require a rig that probably includes a 3080 and a top tier cpu. There is for sure no reason to spend thousands of dollars on such a setup. Though looking at the shit she's got in it it's probably mostly cost due to aesthetic with all the expensive RGB nonsense up to and including an actual screen on her cpu cooler that probably costs 200 dollars alone. And when was the movie theatre one recorded to the point that her and all her friends are still wearing the mask? Her annoyance with the anti vax protesters is palpable as well. The amount of figures she's collecting is insane too. If you need little drawers just to organize the amount of parts you have left over from what are essentially plastic statues maybe you should consider slowing down. Going away from her stuff the video that includes funko pops as part of an 'anime room' thing is funny. I wonder how much money from those hell demons actually goes back to the studios that got paid for the license rather than the western side like Crunchyroll that barely helps the industry if not actively hurting it. And then the "LGBT shelf" which mangas actually have trannies in them? Guessing this is more identity projecting where they see a character that isn't actively insanely feminine as a girl or is just androgynous as either sex and thus they're somehow trans or non binary. Like Japanese companies are actually pandering to your tiny minority.

Don't you say shit about my man Sonny Eclipse. TBH it's the best QS in Magic Kingdom just for that. The food is pretty standard burgers and nuggets though.
I do like how they're embracing the tacky 90's aesthetic with the decor and the Sonny Eclipse show. I thought a lot of things at Disney World looked outdated when I was there but after seeing the excesses of modern corporate friendly minimalist hell over the years I'd take the outdated decor any day.
If she needs makeup she could at least have made sure it matches her skin's undertone.

That first girl in the extras...there's no way any girls actually like Zero Two, she's a character for lonely horny weebs. That's why these girls come off as fake, their pink weeb aesthetic looks manufactured as hell. Contrast that with the first one under the spoiler who I can buy as being a legit weeb thanks to all the BL stuff she has and the interest in characters/manga that get a lot of fangirls (but she's not a problematic fujo she has a LGBT shelf!)

These girls are all obsessed with "fitting in" with the guys and with what they're sold. They purchase every fly by night chinese companies third party item that looks pretty but will probably break if you stare at it wrong, The giant PC case with the RGB nonsense, parts far too expensive for what they'll ever use, and extra aesthetic nonsense. Every ad they see for a new figure they've got to buy it. Every manga that will just sit on a shelf but it's popular so they've gotta have it to fit in with their fellow weebs, purchased and put with it's title facing out so the Tik Tok friends can know they're cultured. It's all the same shit as faux rich people, hypebeasts, and high end music autists, except with somehow cheaper shit that costs way more than it's worth.

Yep, Dream Daddy. I saw one yesterday where a different girl was playing Stardew Valley on a similar rig with pink LEDs, glass panels, the works.

You're right about the second part, but it's not always the first part. I see this sentiment a lot, where people notice what a girl/young woman is doing and think it's about fitting in with the guys or getting male attention when in reality it's closer to intra-sex signaling and competition. It's not "competition with other women for attention from men" it's "competition with other women for approval and recognition".
That's why if a detractor says "Men don't like X." they'll respond with "I'm not doing it for you." and they're telling the truth. Their target audience is other women. When you "clap back" at men for real, you tend to either show your stats or at least your hours played, not your purchases.

That Disney shit is so dumb. People are actually willing to spend hours out in mosquito infested hot weather just to maybe have a chance at getting to ride roller coasters that aren't even that great.

As far as the weeb women gamer stuff I agree. Their need to cope with their purchases especially name brand retarded crap like Razer products is the most idiotic part of it. What guy says that girls can't buy the most pandering gamer merchandise there is? This is the company that just went out on stage and tried to sell an RGB mask to gamers.

It's an idea from sociologist Jean Baudrillard. You can read his writeup on it online (Simulacra and Simulations) but the TL;DR is there's this concept called "hyperreality" which is about the generation of shit tha
To bring the above back to the subject at hand, we can see some of this happening when we look at the difference between delicious food and social media food. If we consider it three categories, there is crossover in that Venn diagram. Delicious food can also be eye-catching, but as we move away from taste/smell first and over to appearance-first, we see more and more of the consoomer mindset as well.

First example that always comes to mind for me is "Disney Food". The stuff that's created just so you can take that photo for Instagram or make that TikTok video, then you toss the rest in the garbage, eat it out of guilt for spending money, or just hoover it up because you're an undiscerning hamplanet who lost the ability to properly taste sugar during the Bush administration.
Spectacle consumerism, maybe?

Debord argues that things had in fact gone still further, so that having has been replaced by appearing. What is at stake here is of a higher order than the problem of image saturation which Susan Sontag thought might be curable by going on an image diet. The image, Debord famously proposed in La société du spectacle (1967), translated as Society of the Spectacle (1970), is the final form of the commodity. In other words, it is not producing things, or even owning things, that drives society forward in the era of late capitalism; it is, rather, how things appear, or more precisely, how they make us appear to ourselves, that matters. Importantly, for Debord, this is not a simple case of vanity. Image consciousness is what we are condemned to in a society which has substituted the spectacle for God. The spectacle is the illusion that our fragmented, alienated life is in fact whole, true, and authentic; the spectacle is what we believe when all our beliefs have been devalued by the market; the spectacle is the idea that the market is sufficient unto itself, no longer a means to an end but an end in its own right.

The presence of polyester in so many consumer brands is concerning. There's a lot of research being done that shows that microplastics ending up in everything's bloodstreams isn't harmless, but somehow putting fibrous plastics in items that will inevitably be gaining much of their wear and tear outdoors or in areas where the material can get into the wild it absolutely fine because it's cheaper to produce, or "doesn't harm animals" even though the amount of mask and clothes in general that just won't rot now because they're barely made out of cotton, leather, fur or anything organic sitting out in the wild due to tards dumping them will. Every time you see a vegan recommend buying something made of polyester like fur replacements, realize how much of an idiot they are being.

I really dislike anything of plastic/polyester. In workout clothes it is nasty. It doesn't keep me dry and it's slippery. When you are squatting with bar over your neck, or laying on the bench to do bench press. You do not want anything to slip.
I only see plebbit people raving over polyester dri-fit. My guess is, they don’t really workout and just want to be "trendy". Or they only run, which is scientifically shown to reduce testosterone in men.

Plastics that are known to be safe isn't really safe, and silicone is the worst. Because it's the most porous. The worst damage is done when you heat up food in anything plastic though. But plastic is really evil.

About the Versace face masks. They are known for silk shirts, so I can't fathom why the masks isn't in silk. Because it's possible, and they do have sleeping masks in silk that looks similar.

If #1 wasn't the same person as #3, I'd have said that just going for the "aesthetic" and having a reasonable amount of games for the switch isn't really consoomer behavior as much as an obsession with the theme, but then they had to come back in clip 3 with early onset consumption behavior plastered all over their room. The collection of anime figures is not a good sign, for sure. #2 is not as bad (as cluttered) but the amount of boots they're starting to acquire especially knowing how expensive they probably all are is concerning. This kind of nonsense is what is being normalized in gen zed's minds.
I'm pretty sure number 2 is nothing but Killstar, the H&M of goth clothes. If so, the boots aren't that expensive for the style, probably in the region of $125 each which is less than half of what you'd pay for similar ones from New Rock or another brand that uses leather rather than plastic.

That level of brand loyalty for tacky, disposable crap is 100% consoomerism.

Maybe if it's porous, food particles get in the pores and become a breeding ground for bacteria. That doesn't have to do with plastics, though.
This happens all the time with modern water bottles. So many of them use some form of silicone for seals, joints, and they become impossible to clean because you can't actually take the bottle apart.

Why is silicone bad because it's porous? I know what that does in fake breasts, but what about for things like storing food in the fridge?
Not where I originally read it, but https://lifewithoutplastic.com/silicone/
It's mostly safe according to them to. There's no real evidence, it's mostly hypothetic.
I was wrong about the porous part though, I did remember wrong. But the others got a good point about food getting stuck.

It's not porous, in fact silicone is probably one of the best materials for keeping water IN something, but it's so good at it that is just basically traps water forever in any tiny gap, making it mold city.
