Best Redesigns - The opposite of the Worst Redesigns thread

I would have putted the Top loader NES as the better redesign if it included the composite video. Sucked for years dealing with the toaster cart connection and top loader rf only video quality. I was that dorky enough to get the AVS so I can have good video quality and decent console design without modding my top loader.

The composite off of the toaster is absolutely terrible quality though, I don't consider it even mildly passable for playing just on a CRT. SNES on the other hand, has composite decent enough that it doesn't look horrible even on a modern LED set.

As far as the top loader, now, unlike the old composite mods, they simply remove the back panel off of the case, remove the RF from the motherboard, and use that space for Nintendo Multi-out or composite jacks. No cutting required. That's how mine is set up for RGB.

excuse my autism for one single second, but i need to show you one of the best rebrands i ever saw for a tv channel logo.
axn, this was the original logo that had some tweakings since its inception in 1997. this one was the last revision.

axn, after the channel rebrand in 2015.

with the rebrand it got more character.

The 360 controller was much better next gen design especially compared to the PS3 controller.
I'm glad they fixed the D-Pad with the the 360 controller. And added shoulder buttons in lieu of White and Black buttons.

And for adding the Start and Back buttons in the middle instead of off to the side.

You could switch between the two with the transforming D-Pad (sold separately.)

While the deathclaw's design in the older fallout games is by no means bad, and the redesign is nowhere near as drastic as some of the other examples shown here, I adore the newer design. I love how they've made it so much beefier than the previous iterations, it makes it look like the apex predator its supposed to be. They also tweaked some of its animations, making it look much more animalistic and feral when it walks. I also like the little additions like how it has thick, crocodile-like scales, larger horns that also make its skull look larger, a cluster of spikes on the back, and a thicker and spikier tail. The original looks almost diseased and anorexic when compared to the newer model, and while I understand that it's malnourished appearence was probably meant to reflect how bad the wasteland is, and I wouldn't be surprised if many people actually prefer the older design, I still feel like the more muscular model better shows how this is meant to be a powerful predator and bioweapon.

maybe this one is gonna be a bit unpopular but i enjoy DMC 5's character designs a lot more than the ones of its prequel
i'd say out of the new game Dante is the one that looks the best, but i appreciate even more how Nero went from looking like an anime twink to a guy with an actual backbone. maybe it's just the personality change that is making me say this, i don't know, but i do quite enjoy the models picked to portray the characters in DMC 5

Call me one of those ponyfags, but back then when I was a kid, I used to fucking love the (admittedly shitty shovelware) Pinkie Pie's Party, as I was born around the time when Generation 3 was a thing. I watched a lot of the movies but I don't remember much about the TV show, but I have to say one thing: Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie got MAJOR upgrades for Generation 4. It ain't that deep but they got designs that actually gave them differing silhouettes.

For example, here's Pinkie Pie (G3 and G4 for reference)

Although I'm not that into My Little Pony anymore, I still have to appreciate the art direction and what not.

Snapple's first logo to their second (current) one.

Text on Snapple was too bold and the sun is creepy to look at.

The font choice is cleaner. And for switching from glass to plastic bottles.

I can't say the same for their third (current) revision...

I have to admit. The Gen. 4 designs were far more superior to previous (and possible future) generations. Like, there's something about the FiM incarnations that's attracted tons of grown-ass men like me and I don't know what it is. Oh wait, it's Autism, nevermind.

After a little bit of thinking, I feel like the reason why the designs in FiM have attracted so many manchildren is because they feel defined and are easily memorable. You can say for example "the rainbow-haired pegasus who likes sports" and most people would automatically assume you're talking about Rainbow Dash. That's what I like about designs like that, they're simple and easily describable.

(The) Cartoon Network starting as a channel block on TNT in the 90s to a full fledged 24/7 cartoon channel.

Originally, Cartoon Network started by airing reruns of older cartoons from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Then, it expanded into making original programming such as Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory, Cow and Chicken and Ed, Edd n Eddy at the turn of the millennium.

Their lineup has gotten better and more diverse over time in the early 00s.

My favorite era would have to be CN City. A CGI/animated hybrid of Cartoon Network shows living in one metropolis. That was the peak of their creativity.

I liked this redesign of the Honolulu city buses, as shown below:

Old design:

Re-design:

Sadly, the City and County of Honolulu decided to go back to the old design for their buses, for reasons that I don't know of.

Also, I liked how much an improvement the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt looks, compared to the first generation one, as it looks a lot less dorky of a car, and doesn't have the oversized grills that some car companies, i.e. Audi, put on their EVs for some reason. Also, the interior on the new Bolt doesn't look as cheap, compared to the 1st generation one:
