There was an obvious reason for the government to kill Epstein, because of the info he was going to spill, but McAfee was a crazy person who owed a lot in taxes that they were just gonna lock up for life anyways. If he had info he woulda told it already.

I can also see the "I wouldn't kill myself" stuff as either something he said before his circumstances changed, as a troll to fuck with the government, or even the result of a drug fueled mania.

He coulda been killed by the government, but I can't see the motive.

Killing himself was probably the best option he had– all governments hate tax evaders, I doubt at this point in his life he'd ever have the chance to get out on parole, and he'd probably die of natural causes in prison anyway.
If the government did kill him, frankly, I can't imagine why they'd do it immediately after he got in the prison. If anybody can come up with a plausible motive aside from him being a tax evader and generally hating the government, I'd be interested. You'd think they'd want him to suffer as long as possible, right?

Yeah, memes aside, I'm kinda on the side of this being an actual suicide in this case. But if McAfee really did have Epstien-level dirt, I bet he had something set up to where the dirt would get leaked in the case of any "accidents," so maybe we'll be getting some interesting news soon. I won't hold my breath, though - I'm betting that, despite his bluster, he just didn't want to spend whatever remaining good years he had left locked up in a goddamn prison. Apparently he had been in that Spanish one for eight months already.
