People give Crowder crap for the “YOU ONLY DEBATE MUH COLLEGE STUDENTS” and I will admit his first few episodes of Change My Mind could be interpreted as mean spirited (Even Crowders audience didn’t think he won the Socialism debate because he threw insults). I think for the most part though he handles the debates professionally and with respect. How many times have college students screamed at him or gave him shit and he didn’t react horribly? In many of those the students depart on good terms with him.

I did have the opinion he was going to give that same treatment to Ethan because he’s not dumb - Ethan knows nothing about politics. It was like when JonTron went up against Destiny. You don’t look good hitting down and it was Ethan who asked for the debate in the first place.

It was like what someone else on the thread said - if a student sat down to debate Crowder on a Change My Mind segment and then was met with some other dude entirely that Crowder tag teamed in.

Crowder has had a history of interviews/conversations on his show with liberals, and I haven't seen a single one that's ended with a screaming match.

Sally Kohn, Laci Green, a handful of other internet feminists, some left-wing actors here and there ... All cordial and respectful conversations that Crowder had with them. The only people that Crowder has ever been confrontational towards are people who (a) have called to violence against him (which is why the "Crowder Confronts" segments exist), and (b) are Cenk Uyger.

I too believe that all Crowder wanted was a respectful conversation with Ethan on his program. The beginning of their conversation prior to the shit hitting the fan says that as well-- even Crowder's staff appeared to be super nice to Ethan when they first started their call.

By the way, since you mentioned it: I am a fan of JonTron, and I still am a fan of his even after his abysmal and cringey debate performance with Destiny. That said, JonTron had a better debate performance than Ethan. At least JonTron fucking showed up and did the thing without bringing up surprise backup or acting like a snake. The Destiny debate was an honest fuckup, and JonTron doesn't try to cope about it by saying that he "won."

You can't invite somebody to 'A Debate with Ethan Klien' and then make him debate 'Some Other Guy'. He could have introduced Sam later or had a seperate conversation with him, but this just brings the whole thing down to bad faith. Who's going to debate him now? I'll say that I like Crowder, I watch his streams very often for the cold/hot takes and the humor, which I indeed find funny in a college frat way.
I'll also say that those calling Crowder a retards are bonified retards themselves. The guy has some terrible takes, but a lot of his takes are consistent rightoid ideology, which is at least consistent, and he also has some shaky history with his former co-host and Owen Fucking Benjamin, but that shit is tame compared to the fucking warhammer 40k chaos faction life that Ethan Klein lives.
I'll say also Crowded did a lot of debates back in the day, some better than others, but most of them good and he does know how to debate. The Change My Mind shit is great, very funny to see college rats burn, why the fuck would you not enjoy those fro what they are, which is polite shit-talk discussion.
Concerning this Ethan Klein shit, I think 'klein' means 'little' in German btw, at first I though Crowder should have bitten the bait and debated that sam who character, but then I thought why the fuck should a snake like that get air time and I think Crowder did the right thing by taking a piss and leaving the shitshow early.

Crowder tracking his show doesn't strike me as the epic own everyone keeps saying it is. I mean this very event proved that he was correct in assuming Sam and Ethan would try to set something like this up, the only way they got away with it was being tricky. It was a funny troll and I'll laugh at it for what it is, but it's not some slam dunk which makes anyone appear weak or wrong or anything. Lefties celebrating this are just desperate for a win while each and every one of them does exactly what Crowder does.
