Factorio Thread

I've really given up on the conversation, they can always fall back on "It wasn't communism because communism implies no state", the thing is, the only way you can be a "stateless country" is if you don't have sovereignty.
I've given up n the conversation because every time I ask for an example of communism working in a larger country I get told that "we'll do it different".

yeah, sure. okay...

We are about a third of the way to Kovarex Refinement research on the server.
I forgot how fast vanilla factorio can actually go. I might well reboot the server in about two days/after rocket with a fully modded experience.

Well there was that time an unindustrialised backwater shithole became communist and spent the next hundred years being a global superpower and holding the world at nuclear gunpoint.

Critical Race Theory? In Academia it means something entirely different from progressive stack, white rage, and Talcolm X reparations. They point at its use as an academic tool and ignore what school boards are actually doing.
Most postmodern bullshit spewed by SJWs is just dumbed down retard versions of shit that was in academia 20-30 years ago, regurgitated by people who don't understand it.

This is like watching "Palestine" throw bottle rockets at Israel.
and every single neg review is getting dozens of "jester" ratings and marked as funny lol

plus steam has now blanket flagged all reviews since last week as potential review bombing, so none of them will affect the game's overall review score. i guess that is our equivalent to israels iron dome cucking all the hamas rockets.

I like how so many of the troons admitted they pirated it anyway, as if there wasn't enough reason not to give a single fuck about their moronic demands. They aren't customers, any more than shoplifters are.
I always hate when people say they're doing a good thing by pirating and they have to make up a bunch of retarded moralistic arguments to justify it. Just tell me the truth that you're a selfish asshole who's cool with theft.

This isn't about now. Its about the long game. Look at Gamergate. There are plenty of great youtube videos explaining it. Can you cite them in a serious academic work? No? History will be written with all of the shitty articles you see.
That makes sense. I'm reading Days of Rage right now and it's astounding how effective they are at rewriting history, at least the parts people know/talk about. Unlike the Gamer Civil Rights Movement, there's plenty you could cite on that, and it's all on Wikipedia for anyone who cares to look. But no one knows or cares.

I guess that's the strategy -- it doesn't matter how many people know it's bullshit today, books outlast oral history, especially if you can intimidate people into lying to their kids.

I grew up knowing the winners wrote the history books, but what exactly that means is still sinking in decades later.

When troons cancel every single thing they like or have ever liked (Disney gets a pass ofc), are they simply propelling the 41% rate? Imagine constantly auditing every single thing you want to watch, play, listen to, etc. Because it might already have been canceled. And the worst part is most of the time you won't know until you're already interested in and want to consumeーconsoom if you preferーthe product in question. It's like constantly dangling delicious pastries that most of the time you can't eat. That must bother them, right?

Since this thread's been kickstarted, might as well show off my early belts/buffers from my first save

LMAO explain how?

As much as I hate to agree with the retard I think piracy can help smaller games. Users who pirate it and like the game go on to engage in the community, talk about it online, maybe create content for it and possibly even buy it.

This isn't really applicable to factorio anymore and it certainly isn't applicable to AAA games who throw millions at ad campaigns.

Just look at the insanity on display here, you can't debate "some topics" without "violating certain groups", like WTF does that mean? I know it means 'never question & obey', but I want specifics. What debate violate which groups?
Don't you know? Asking that is also violating certain groups.

It's the perfect thought-terminating grift.

Factorio has online co-op. Succession is more suited to games where you don't otherwise have a decent way to co-operatively build stuff, like Dwarf Fortress.
I still think it has the potential to be a good one. Just because you can do more normal multiplayer doesn’t mean that’s your only option.
Having to pick up where some other asshole left off and make his harebrained scheme work is totally a succession game
Looks like more pixel indie shit too me
That’s as much a stylistic choice as it is a necessity - the game intends to scale up almost indefinitely, if they weren’t careful it’d chug more than a fratboy

It means that the author of the tweet holds the retarded ideas popularized by the book "A Critique of Pure Tolerance", or perhaps some internet-mutated version of them.

Just started a Angels-Bobs run thanks to this retarded situation, Factorio is a great fucking game that I've owned since relatively early in the game's existence and I'm genuinely impressed how good the game continues to be after all this time. It's great because the pretty colors and numbers make me happy.

Also, imagine arguing it's bad to buy Factorio because the money goes to the publisher when you can buy the fucking game on their website and not from a publisher.

Whichever janny cleaned up the thread, my wholehearted "thank you".

To expand on that: if you look at the source of the whole nontroversy about Kovarex and Uncle Bob (or whatever the man's name is), the FFF blog posts, there's an enormouns amount of effort put into optimizing that game. When you can have, no joke, hundreds of thousands of items moving around on conveyors at any given time, even a minor increase in processing power or RAM required to render a single screen element can destroy both framerates and simulation rates. It being relatively light is also a big draw for people without powerful computers.

Satisfactory tried to do it in 3D, and I'd argue it does a competent job at this point in time (even if it's a different kind of game from Factorio)... but while Factorio will run on your average toaster with some difficulty, Satisfactory has this habit of making even beefy rigs chug like the dickens. And that's on factories that don't come even close to the same scale as Factorio's.
