General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Something else about Ame not liking money. Ever since the charity stream, she has turned off superchats for most of her streams. She's only had them on for special ones, like collabs, or the 3d vr. Or she only turns them on at the very end when people don't stop bothering about it. It could be that she feels a bit guilty for all the money that was gathered. Originally she expected to get 15k. Or maybe she got sick of spending up to 7 hours reading them every sunday.

Also please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think anyone posted clips from this Noel stream, where she attempts to sing with vibrato by using a shaking machine.

are you thinking what I'm thinking?

the whole stream is gold
Afaik, Shubaru will have an off collab and visit Noel so she knows whats actually going on lmao
Pretty sure that's just the lighting combined with the filters that every modern phone has. Compare with pic related where she showcased her sunburn. There she's indoors and is significantly more tanned.

If she just go for this look, it'll at least 10x better for her.
We are talking about Gawr "im allergic to anything with other people" Gura, is weird that she actually want to go, bets in who she kill first this time
I hope she goes to meet Noel or Marine, or whoever is fond of her and get to see a JP reaction of her.
Oh it was Moona that said her name, not Siri. I think she was asking Siri some questions, Siri answered, and somehow Siri said her name but we didn't hear it. After that Moona was surprised that Siri would know her name and she kinda blurt out her name without realizing it.
anyone archived that stream?

Her family could be one of those old school family who encourage their children of using English only out of fear of bullying in school and on the street in general. Some of my Hispanic 2nd to 3rd Gen friends also affirm that their parent does not want them to use Spanish so they can stay low profile since they can at least pass as tan-European and avoid unnecessary attention.
A lot of third and 4th generation immigrant Americans can barely speak their native language if at all, it's natural. A lot of white people in the US are from Germany/other parts of Europe but don't speak or have any identity with it.

I completely forgot what her last name was. I've been in the boat of not beleiving she was Hispanic cuz she admitted her only contact with the language was through school curricula. If she's 2nd gen she should at least have some Spanish speaking family that could help her speak better than she does. As a fellow 2nd gen she also sounds too white to even believe she has Spanish speaking family. So at best she can only be mixed to me.
One of my closest friends is a second generation Pakistani and he & his siblings speaks the native language here (Not Pakistani) as fluent as any nativeborn I know. Guy legally changed his name to a White name because over the phone he might as well be white. Just because whatever area you come from has sucky integration doesn't mean the world at large does.

This meme review is kinda going slow, but its entertaining. Placing my bet here; last guest is Kiara so that they can do a "pass the baton" thing towards the end.

In order of importance, things people will use to discriminate you as the other is language and skin (depending on the place, one may be more important than the other) and the clothes you are wearing as second. Tale as old as humanity. Even Roman legionaries forced Auxiliars to use Roman like names if they were too complicated to say.

And please, no. no pass baton to Kiara. I'm not a takodachi, but please give me Ina.

The meme review feels... Weird. I know its the format, but having Coco explain the meme to Kiara feels redundant, specially since its mostly Western humor, if it was JP memes I'd understand.
But this feels weird.
She’s technically explaining it to Japanese viewers too, so I think it’s fine.

t, but having Coco explain the meme to Kiara feels redundant
The explanation is not for her

In other news

I got Pekora!bootleg today, the designer did not even bother to pretend they did not pirated her and neither Yostar, she has a line where your character ask her where are her carrots and she belittle you for believing she is a rabbit

On the discrimination part we are in agreement.

As for baton pass, I'd prefer if the EN girls took over and just made it an English thing, where they just review a bunch of memes, no translating it to Japanese or Indonesian or German or Spanish. I feel like that would be vastly different from Coco's show, and would have its own identity. But I still think choosing Kiara for last is to have Coco do a "baton pass" thing.
But ultimately, and I hope the girls realize this, Reddit is available for all the girls. Sure its a shitty place with super clean, boring memes. But people still watch and get entertained by it. We could have Kanata with guest C reviewing memes for the Japanese /English audience on occasion with English girls just laughing at them more often, with way less hassle than having to be a translator. Worst case scenario Kiara just adds a "review your own memes" during Holotalk imho.
