Per the first inrangetv Q&A we get a little insight into Karl's lack of a father....
Karl: What's the first question
Ian: Alright so our first question is from Alex who says: "I honestly would like to hear how you both got into firearms what was it that drew you into the sport or hobby and what are some ideas from the past that you would like to see make a resurgence in today's firearms in gear."
Karl: Okay
Ian: So Karl how did you, you, I've actually never asked you this, how did you get into this?
Karl: Yeah you know it's funny so, so it wasn't like my family had a tradition of firearms or shooting or anything like that I had a um, my niece, her husband was in was into it and um, I was a kid I was like I don't know 15 14 something like that and
I didn't have a Dad because he, he was gone, so he wanted uh, to kind of just be um, a "father figure" of sorts and he took me out shooting so first thing he did he took me out shooting trap I think was with 20-gauge and it was fun it was knocking down those birds it was exciting and that was a good time and then he took me out a couple times to go um do some rifle shooting which was not anyway instructional it was more just fun um it was at a proper range but it wasn't something where I learned a lot from but that was why I was 15 years old.
Ian: Okay
Karl: He actually got killed in a car accident and so that was the end of that so but when I turned 18 that bug had bit me.
