Interesting. It seems he actually worked with the retroarch project. Devs from other emulation projects are apparently not too happy with Retroarch because their emulators are relegated to a plugin in the Retroarch system. It appears that isn't part of the drama with him.

He had a very early connection to the project. RetroArch began as SSNES, which was a frontend exclusively for bsnes, made with byuu's approval. Although some people like the MAME devs are against RetroArch for philosophical reasons like the core system, it seems like the main source of conflict is that Squarepusher/TwinAphex is insufferable and loves starting drama.
