Hello fellow friends who love trains, and welcome to the this newly created, primovera model train discussion thread, where we can talk about our hobby of building model railroads. Sorry to put this thread in games but there is no real board for serious hobbies yet.

Not much to say here in the OP, but Ill talk a little about my own trainset. I recently got given a little bit of track from my uncle who has a massive trainset, and I am looking to put together a HO Scale village on a 8x10 table in my moms basement based on a town in the early 1910s in the American west. I have a small oval track currently, and only one little steam engine, although Im looking to expand some day, but the hobby is kind of expensive.

That's about all I have to say about my own experience, feel free to ask questions, and happy conducting!

I think the image in your OP broke, I only see a thin sliver after reloading a couple of times. Anyway, I have a couple of questions for you.
1) You mention your Mum's basement, have you not moved out yet?
2) Are you a NEET?
3) How much money have you spent on train sets?
4) How did you get into this delightfully autistic hobby?

:)

Yeah big issue with the image there, think its fixed now,

1. Im in college, cant take an 8x10 trainset into my dorm unless I wanna sleep underneath it... hmmm actually.... I gotta think about that
2. NEET adjacent I guess, IDK man thats tough to answer
3. All my stuff is gifted from my uncle, although I did buy some modeling tools and paint from Hobby Lobby, relatively simple stuff to help with weathering my cars and engine to make them look more realistic
4. My uncle built model trains, I loved playing with his trainset as a kid and I used to go to these conventions with him, he's the one who gave me the stuff

I wish I could get into model railroading, but I'm extreme poorfag with other hobbies that suck away what little pennies I have. Even worse is I'm American yet vastly prefer British locomotives, so even if I had the cash, I'd still have to fork out a lot to import models. If there's one thing the Brits ever got right in this world, it's their steam locos
