Worth stating also that most of the examples of "ordinary" computer scientists are guys in their forties, fifties and sixties.
If those people grew up in today's hyper-reality it would be a different story. Autists are a sounding rod for whichever culture is in power, and the culture of thirty years ago was very different.

Agreed, I've met a number of old-school sysadmins from the late 70s and 80s and they have all been autistic to a greater or lesser extent.

By their own logic, Twitter is a harassment site because of how much of their dog piling has led to people having their lives ruined over false accusations.

At least Kiwis have the decency to make sure they have the right info- Twatter users can’t even be bothered to verify before social media crucifixions
