all i gotta say about the troons is that they're fucking retarded. Don't they know we're fighting the good fight against bugmen and insyalalah? If either of them had full reign, they'd be gas'd quicked than me after a bunch of burritos.

Anyways, in the midst of all the shit that went down, we had Coco interview Yagoo. From what I gather, he was stuck between a rock and a hard place with such a free, strong willed personality like Coco. Once Cover had gotten big enough, it became hard to greenlight alot of the things she wanted if Cover wanted to stay in good graces of Susantube.

And we also had Mio's new costume. What a FAQing cute wolfo. Oh, and Korone did room reviews of koronesukis. The part where she magnifies one eye is so goofy and more or less confirms I would jihad anyone who tries to cancel her.

Makes sense for us to be mentioned since Multimedia is basically dominated by this thread, it's always on the front page. Sometimes I just log off to make me a quick snack and I see like three or four new pages waiting for me lol!

It's a pretty neat part of the site too, as much as I like to discuss weirdos, I feel the most welcome right here, you guys are nice!

While I don't have a problem with these people (I just don't take people like Yaniv and Chris seriously), I also hate those fucking e-troons as they're retarded and behave exactly like the chinese nationalists, if you disagree with them you're evil and sure to get a lot of harassment for that. Ridiculous, really.

They allow very little freedom of discourse and almost no leeway in their demands, when they start changing the whole narrative to fit their needs is when I really get some beef with them despite the retards in question being just a loud minority!

It's not a pronunciation thing, it's just a different name, the word "Axolotl" does exist as アホロートル
"Ahorotoro" but they just also have another name in Japanese "Wooper Looper" which ends up sounding like oopa loopa

This is also the reason why the pokemon Wooper exists with that name.

Honestly Coco has just blown me away in the past week. The content she's bringing out reminds me of a supermassive star that's about to implode and cause a supernova (and leave behind... a black hole...)

I really hope Coco's graduation becomes the golden standard or at least the standard that everyone should be aiming for. Things went so much better than I expected after the announcement. We got:

  • Collabs galore. Pretty much anyone that wanted to collab with Coco one last time had the chance. We finally got the EN collabs as well.
  • Big collabs. The Mario Kart 3thv4th Gen and Summer Festival Arc where amazing fun.
  • The Classics. We got one more AsaCoco, Karaoke and a couple more Shitpost Reviews.
  • Original song! A first for Coco.
  • An amazing farewell cover song with MV (aided by tatsunoko). Coco tried her best to sing this one.
  • A new outfit.
  • SEXY COCO
  • 4th Gen original song.
  • A freaking interview with the man, the legend, YAGOO. This piece is in my top 3 best content of this year so far. The interview had some really good curveball questions and not a single softball. Coco was genuine all through this and even had some fun with him. Not as much insider scoops as I would like to but we got Yagoo confessing that he regrets not protecting the talent more when shit went down.
All of this plus a lot behind the scenes talk that cleared us up as to why she is leaving (mostly in that member stream). She also fought for the right to keep all her content up and not becoming a taboo topic after she left. Trust me, this isn't a given as we've seen that Cover will do anything to ''save face'' and a talent ''quitting'' isn't flattering.

I don't know if this makes it easier or harder to let go of Coco. It's both in a weird way. She's unlike any of the Holos. She's mature and strong enough to pave her own path despite being so different and having so many obstacles. She always tried pushing the boundaries of what's possible in, what we know, is a company that's still failing in many regards. I really don't know if any other Holo will go so far out of her comfort zone to do this...

In any case, she totally deserves every good thing that has happened to her and may leave proud of all her achievements.

In a sense, I can kind of see Coco's graduation is a very important point not just for Hololive/Cover, but also Vtubers in general. It's not far-fetched to think that Vtubers from another group/corpo or the indies will watchher graduation with close eyes, both JP and overseas.
Here is Coco, one of the most successful VTubers of all time, the one person singlehandedly brought VTubers to the shores of western countries. Instead of a solemn and mute graduation other talents usually has, she's going with a bang. And her works and name will remain with everyone as well, something almost unprecedented in the industry.
Is it sad that she's going to retire? Yes indeed. But the she brought changes to the game, and changed it she did until to the very end. Can't wait for her last live.

Maybe I'm coping but I get the feeling Coco may one day return at some point. Maybe she goes and does what she wants then in a year, two years maybe she returns. She and Yagoo are said to be good friends. If she wanted to, they'd probably let her return, it'd be fucking massive.

That's what I've always figured with her repeatedly mentioning returning in 500 years. Even repeating it to Polka during the Summer Festival. Like you mentioned, I think she just wants to accomplish some stuff on her own to prove her self-worth (which would play into her having doubts about herself and comparing herself to other Holomembers). Early on in one of her streams after she announced her retirement, might have been a member stream, she even asked everyone to wait for her.

Something about this that does worry me though is, say that she takes a 1-2 year break, who's to say that Hololive won't look drastically different. I personally hope we won't see any more graduations in the near future, but that's a long time to wait and hope for things to remain like when you left it.
