To be clear, Byuu is/was not a tranny I don't think. They went through a tranny phase and foolishly said dangerous tranny things like encouraging DIY hormone abuse but pretty sure they didn't go through with it and stopped at some point. It's probably some correlation with the autism required for the job and the current internet zeitgeist. I was talking with a friend about the overrepresentation of troonery among computer science things, with an emphasis on programming gigs (pro or not) and we both just ended up agreeing it's likely that autists' social ineptitude makes them much more susceptible to people encouraging them to go trans and hang out with other degenerates. The tranny communities are filled with bullies who prey on weak-willed people and autists like these are weak-willed in every aspect except the one thing they are all in on. If you let them focus on that one thing then they're usually content overall.

An anecdote. An autistic guy I grew up with fur-trooned out hard core and his meds fucked him up so he has the shakes now so he basically never leaves his house and has been a NEET forever, he can't even work online remotely due to his inability to type very well due to the shakes. I was wondering about him one day so looked into some of his accounts and he was very clear that the only people that "accepted him" were the trannies and furries. Everyone else "didn't understand."

Probably not every single one. Since a lot of emulators now are open source, it is unavoidable that among the contributors you'll have troons. But I believe the emulation ogs aren't troons. Autistic, not unlikely, based on the fact that Icer Addis and somebody who knows him are still very anal about releasing SNESticle, despite it being a 20+ year old emulator that nobody would care about, aside retro gamers.

First release was in 2004. It's been done for years, but most that is Higan as a whole with the other emulators that probably just use code from other open source emulators.
