General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

If anybody is interested in this side of the process (and has 2 hours to kill) Farhan Sarasin went through his Cubase project file to show how he went about making REFLECT. Maybe those with keen ears and eyes might catch what specifically made the final product turn out the way it did. He streamed this right before the TTRPG session yesterday and I only manged to catch the last 30 minutes live and haven't went back through the first hour and a half yet. From what I caught, he didn't spend that much time on showing the vocals out of concern if he was even allowed to show it, so this is mostly an instrumental showcase. He also did everything in roughly 4 days (this alone might explain the result honestly).

She's gone....

Imagine numberfagging on the fucking graduation stream of all thing.
Imagine asking someone else to summarize it for you because you can’t even be arsed to show up for it,

you guys have spent the last month crying about Coco and I’ve tried to be sympathetic, but dude couldn’t even make his post about 123k people at Lulu’s graduation without mentioning Coco. So spin.

Which is funny as she's just like Sora, being humble and all about her success. It also helps that she was one of the few that had their roommates known early on!

Isn't him the CEO? Couldn't he simply remind them of who's boss from time to time? I'm asking because their management clearly sucks sometimes given what has been said around here.
Well he's still accountable to the board so there's that. I get the impression he doesn't really run day-to-day idol management operations, more so he oversees business operations and heck maybe even the developers who develop their app. Remember that Cover wasn't originally an idol/VTuber company, so he probably hired and delegated that role to people who have more experience with that kind of stuff. That's probably why he said one of his regrets was he failed to protect the talents more.

Overall I get a feeling he's a nice guy who stumbled into a sudden gold mine with Hololive, but what do I know he's one of my top oshis lol.

a CEO isn't in 1000% complete control. Speaking generally of business structure (I don't know down to a T how Covercorp is set up) a companies board of directors can vote to oust a CEO if it's deemed to be for the good of the company.

Or to put it in simpler terms, the captain might be in charge of the ship, but if he goes against the crew's best interest too much for too long, they might just throw him overboard.

Btw Coco just confirm that she had a talk with Yagoo when they have that interview about how her character "Kiryu Coco" will be handle from now on regarding anniversary and stuff, and Yagoo said he doesn't mind her appearing at all. Coco have to point out though that this is his personal opinion and the company itself might have different idea, so we shouldn't get our hope up yet. So the talk that he have board of directors to answer to is absolutely true. Still, we get to confirm that Yagoo is based, even if the rest of old man sitting in chairs might not.

Yagoo to retire from Cover and build a new company with Coco. The majority of remaining Hololive members jump ship. Cover bankrupt. The new company buys Cover assets. The ex-Hololive members now can stream with their old Hololive characters.

The way thats phrased seems to be about making her/not making her taboo and not about her appearing though. Unless this is just your phrasing and they are more specific in the interview.

We then circle back to the thing we discussed a few pages ago: how does Cover maintain its business model? The revenues they make from YT Membership cuts, SC cuts, merch cuts, ad deals, concerts etc would barely break even paying for their talents, their managers, middle managers and their developers. I think they're currently supported by these fellas:

This more or less confirms what I already thought about him and Cover in general.

Yagoo just wants to help the girls and wants them to do what they want, however they want. He's never been a driving force behind the issues a lot of us take with the company, and is just as much a fan of the talents as we are.

He and the talents are being handicapped by a bunch of Japanese boomers in suits who can't get with the times and refuse to operate the business any way other than by old fashioned Japanese standards that are more of a hindrance than anything else.

Barely break even? When did we know how much they are getting now?

That was me paraphrasing the LiveTL in chat, so take it with a tiny spec of salt. The translator is the one who always translating Coco chat tho, so he's unlikely to be outright wrong. In any case, the take away is Yagoo is chill. Cover might not but nobody know atm.

135K now. I hope she beats Coco, and probably will if you take out the counts of all the Chinese tuning in to gloat.

Look dude, I get it. Coco tends to be on a lot of people minds, including mine. I appreciate the fact that you tried to be sympathetic on our autism, but don't get influenced by the numberfagging because then you act in a negative manner. For me, today is Lulu (I hate how I didn't start watching her sooner), tomorrow is Coco. Yes, numberfagging sucks, but just because one person made a weak link in logic with a Lulu and Coco comparison, doesn't mean you have to write shit like that. June is a sad month, doesn't have to get worse.

Translation from the Lulu discord that's being spread around. Take with a grain of salt if you want. "Letter of Challenge" is a slang term for Letters with death threats.

Her reason for graduating was because of a few insane stalkers/gachikois continued to harass her roommate even after the issues from February were dealt with.

Before people start on the "lmao Anycolor/Nijisanji said they'd protect their vtubers what happen?" Tribalist shit. They did what they could. It all just sucks.

Jesus what a sad way to go compared to Coco. What the fuck is wrong with people? And this is happening to a non-idol talent, just imagine what people in the idol industry have to put up with.
Her general attitude and the fact she never really collabed with male livers outside of events built up insane faggot unicorn "SHE WILL BE MINE" gachikoi. She doesn't have to be a traditional idol to attract those kinds of scum.
I would've been sad but accepting if it really was just burnout from streaming but I just feel like I've been fucking robbed and now I'm pissed and sad.

Mainly speculating, but who knows maybe I'm underestimating simp power

EDIT: Where did the hate for Lulu stem from? Just general haters or did something else went down that I missed?

From what I understood reading the thread around when Mel had her case, it's not even about agency helping/not helping. It's about their weird ass laws that police's hands are tied unless something directly incriminating happens.
Fuck. Anytime a talent graduates I'm hopeful that it's them hopping on a higher branch. But so far it has been a big fat nope.
