I know nobody actually gives a shit about these things but considering what's been going on with the events of KiwiFarms and Byuu/Near, i have a sneaking suspicion these fuckers are going to milk this shit bone dry. Might get a few noteworthy moments from it, but it might also be horrendous/boring as fuck.

I was actually just thinking that. There's really no need at this point for "the expense" of in-person gatherings. The only reason I can see them coming back a year from now is if the autists actually miss physically being around each other.

Now that I type that out, I expect there to be a "hybrid" moving forward where runners have the option of doing it online. If for no other reason than they'll claim ableism (either too poor or actually disabled) and inclusion.

Holy shit, look at all the games nobody cares about. Maybe 1 in 10 is something actually interesting.

Its the physical contact thing, this is this community's big meet up and most of them hardly even visit the viewing room outside of their and their friends' time on stage. I think they will be back for AGDQ. If they don't restart in person meetups they will be eventually be replaced.

To me it's like boasting that you watched a movie on fast forward, the point of a game should be to savor it and get immersed, to really enjoy it, not just rush through everything.

I finally played Metal Wolf Chaos earlier this year and there's so many fascinating ways to read it, the Vice President is vaguely implied to be a right wing figure, but his control of the media and the media propaganda campaigns remind me of the Democrats.

In fact the whole thing hilariously anticipates the Trump years, a US President who's trying to save the country being demonized as an enemy trying to destroy it while the ones who are claiming to be saving the country from this menace are in fact the ones destroying it.

But considering the game came out during the height of the Dubya years makes me wonder if it's a subtle jab at him, the fact that you're mowing down countless US soldiers by a Patriotic US President, are the soldiers evil or misled? It feels like it could be a metaphor for Dubya sending soldiers off to pointlessly die while supposedly being a gung ho patriot.

I don't know what it's really trying to say, but it's one of the weirdest games I've ever played and Jodie's whole monolog about the time she found her favorite candy is one of the weirdest bits of dialog I've ever heard.
